Ya that's the great thing about the apple store. They just take your word for it and give you a new one.

I was having proximity sensor issues with my iPhone 4 where my face would hit the buttons during a call every now and then. If was difficult trying to make the problem appear so naturally the apple guy couldn't either but said there must be a problem or I wouldn't be there.

Forgot to mention that he askes for the phone's serial number to check the history. Prob seeing if it's a locked phone, warranty, acct info...



I got another question. My SBSettings Data toggle doesn't seem to be working? Is anyone else having this problem?

What is the data toggle suppose to do? Turn off all data?

yup.

Right now I'm not sure if "wifi staying on even in sleep mode" was my imagination or if my phone is messed up but I know if you turn off data, wifi stays on during sleep mode for sure. But stupid data toggle isn't working properly.

Backing stuff up and getting ready to rejailbreak....

Has anyone tried sticking in a Rogers sim card into an iPhone4 sent by fido and have it work?

I want to HUP to the iphone4 so I can give to the GF while i get the Galaxy s

lots of conflicting reports about it being fine with a fido simcard inside a rogers iphone but not vice versa.

It seems to me the only way of getting an iphone is to lineup at the Apple store at whatever time ppl line up. How did you guys get yours?

how u get the theme clock to not overlap? mine just overlaps when the time change so it looks like crap

Hey guys my cydia is frozen downloading a package. There is no way for me to cancel it. Is there any way for me to restart cydia? I read that I have to restore my iPhone (fml) and jailbreak it again. How to I save all my jailbroken apps + pics/files to restore later?

anyways, ive got a JB 4.1 iphone4.
Downloaded an app through installous. and now my app store icon has a #1 on it saying that theres a new upgrade.
heres my problem, i cant even buy the app if i upgraded through the app store, nor, can re-download the newer version because it says i already have it installed.
That #1 on the app store icon drives me nuts.

anyone encountered this yet?

Quick question about the jailbreak, if I restore it back to original, then restore from back up of the phone (with the jailbreak), will it restore with or without the jailbreak?

u gotta uninstall it then install the new version

if i uninstall it, do i lose my saved data? cuz this is an app that i use for expense management.

On a side note, if i sync the iphone with my mac itunes, would i lose all my cracked apps?
And doing an update through my mac itunes would do something as well thatll screw things up?

Sync all you want. Dunno about deleting the app though. Sometimes you don't lose anything. Heck, my iphone 4 remembers where I am in Angry Birds from my 3G.

alright this may seem retarded but for greenpoison and limerain i understand that its a tethered jailbreak meaning you gotta connect it to your phone to do the jailbreak.

Now with the old firmware 3.1.2 i ran blackrain and that was a tethered jailbreak and everytime i had to reset the phone I would need to run it, is it the same thing for greenpoison/limerain?

No you just jailbreak it once, and that's it, its good to go.
With blackra1n you couldn't turn off your phone or let it die without it locking up..then u have to rejailbreak it.
