I'll repost this from the Desire thread:

BTW I calibrated my battery, and now it charges up to 4182 mV, instead of 3800 or so. If you have a Desire or N1, and it doesn't charge that high, give this a try:

1) You will want to make sure the power cord is plugged into the AC adapter, not USB
2) connect the phone to the charger with the phone powered on, and allow the phone to charge until the notification LED is green
3) Disconnect the phone from the charger, and power it off.
4) Reconnect the phone to the charger with the phone powered off, and allow the phone to charge until the notification LED is green. (this should be instant)
5) Disconnect the phone from the charger and power it on.
6) Once the phone is powered completely on, power it off again
7) Reconnect it to the charger until the notification LED is green. (if done correctly, this will NOT be instant, and your battery will be "topping up")
8) Disconnect the phone, power it on, and use it. Your battery should be charged higher than it was before.

Aren't you supposed to wipe the battery stats in recovery too?

SkinnyPupp 09-15-2010 10:36 PM

No. Nor are you supposed to drain the battery first. Those are all assumptions made by ignorant folks ;)

Just follow the directions as stated, it will work if your current max charge is low.

A really good battery widget is BatteryLife

Gh0stRider 09-15-2010 10:43 PM

Installed overcharge. Im at 3776mv.

Mine charges up to 4192mv so I didn't bother yet. But i hate how it cycle discharges to 90% and then back up to 100%

You'll definitely benefit from it then!

how long does it do this for?

SkinnyPupp 09-16-2010 05:11 AM

For me it was a few minutes. Basically it's charging from the old limit (3800) to the new limit (4200 or so)

Remember to use the outlet instead of USB

Gh0stRider 09-16-2010 05:25 AM

mine shows 4162mv now

how often do i have to calibrate it? or just a one time thing?

SkinnyPupp 09-16-2010 06:12 AM

Should be! Just keep an eye on the max charge, when it drops below 4000 I guess do it again.

Levitron 09-16-2010 10:42 AM

Thanks! Mine's recalibrated now to 4138mV. Was sitting below 3800mV before.

Levitron 09-16-2010 03:56 PM

Forgot to add, I'm on LeoFroyo 2.0 patch 2.

Lyzic 09-16-2010 09:53 PM

is anyone using the nexus one on telus?

For some reason, total newb and just figuring it out (first android phone) i can only surf the internet through the browser when connected to wifi. i can't use my data.

however, i can get/send email, go through apps to get stuff off the net fine with data.

any ideas?

also, how do i save contacts to the sim card, instead of my google account. annoying.

also, *82 doesn't work before a number to unblock my private number. also annoying.

but, awesome phone. awesome. using froyo 2.2

Hehe 09-16-2010 10:35 PM

You need to add your appropriate APN for 3G. (google it) Also, through Telus, it's HSPA+ only, make sure your N1 supports the appropriate band.

Gh0stRider 09-16-2010 11:23 PM

block calls are #31#+(area code)+(number)

It already sounds like he can make calls so it's the 850 3G model since Telus has no fallback to 2G. Just his APN settings are wrong.

anyone running CM6?

hongy 09-19-2010 06:17 PM

Skinnypupp was running cm6 for a bit.

SkinnyPupp 09-19-2010 07:36 PM

Yeah took it off after numerous little bugs and crashes, and it was missing things like tethering and wifi hotspot. Using Modaco Desire R9 now, and it's excellent.

Gh0stRider 09-19-2010 09:02 PM

not that into the desire roms/htc sense, so dont got much options

CM6
Leofroyo(currently)
Enomther

SkinnyPupp 09-19-2010 09:04 PM

You could still use the Modaco kitchen and take out all the Sense stuff.. That's what I did :lol Well I left some things on

Gotta pay for that.

I switched to CM6 but didn't notice much of a difference between Leofroyo and CM6.

Gonna try this rom: http://android.modaco.com/content/go...hen-2-2-froyo/

after I do the battery thing that SP posted.

SkinnyPupp 09-19-2010 09:59 PM

Yeah I didn't mind paying for the forum, since I have been using it since I got the Omnia II (and without it, that phone really really sucks)

If someone wants me to cook a rom for them in the oven, PM me

Gh0stRider 09-20-2010 08:56 PM

what so special about desire/sense ui roms?

more widget support..what else? does it make the phone perform better?

Ch28 09-20-2010 09:46 PM

The camera is better and takes actual widescreen pics.

The one on leofroyo doesn't
