nice.

installed kik messenger. just testing it out, seems ok so far.

illicitstylz 11-14-2010 02:01 PM

just installed whatsapp since some friends use it, it's a lot easier since you don't have a unique PIN code like BBM/Kik etc. It just adds people that are already on your contact list because it goes by your cell #.

I'm having troubles customizing the notification/status bar at the top of the screen, everything else I've got a hang of.

I did it through metamorph, some files work, but for the notification bar it actually crashed my phone and put it in an endless boot loop, good thing for nandroid backup.
Got the file from here:http://droidpirate.com/2010/09/01/me...ock-statusbar/

Is there another method to customize the status bar? I'm looking to make it transparent.

Nice work.

What's the method that you use to change that ESPN widget? I notice that the font is different and so is the background of the widget.

when do you switch between 2g and 3g? Curious because I know it'll save on battery life.

I usually do it to reset my network connection or when I know I'm in an area with crappy 3G.

Tim Budong 11-16-2010 12:20 AM

i believe it was called minimal matte

illicitstylz 11-16-2010 09:48 AM

FUCK.

i guess flashing different roms too many times then having the 30+ applications automatically download (backup from google) back onto the phone afterwards maxed my data, all 500mb. Have to wait until Dec 9th to turn back on my 3G ...

Yeah, I was wondering why so many people bothered with wifi even though they all have data plans ..Does turning on wifi automatically disable 3G for data downloads /sync etc?

Well let's just hope I didn't go that far across my limit cause excess data is rape-your-sister expensive..

Do they give any leniency on this for a first time "offender" ?

Wifi takes over if its turned on.

That's why the Rogers My Account program won't work when you're on Wifi because it can't use 3G data to pull up your account details

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu uuuuu

Gh0stRider 11-16-2010 02:34 PM

with a smartphone, you might wanna upgrade your data plan to 1gig

!MiKrofT 11-16-2010 04:43 PM

6gb ftw lol

illicitstylz 11-16-2010 06:27 PM

Yeah my BB never used CLOSE to 500mb, had no idea it'd be such a big difference.

I'm on the $25 500mb data pan, how much are you guys paying for your 1GB and 6GB packages?

Gh0stRider 11-16-2010 06:30 PM

i got my 6gb plan when it was on promotion for $30

!MiKrofT 11-16-2010 10:11 PM

$30 here also. BB servers compress data to the BB which is why it uses less data.

w00tgasm 11-16-2010 11:42 PM

I got my 6gb for $15...
Okay for $30 with data discounts :P

Pro tip: get the 1gb and try to negotiate a $10 and $5 data discount.
Then when 6gb rolls around upgrade to that and hope they leave the discounts.

how'd you manage to get the $10 and $5 discounts?

i'm on a bb data value pack (500mb, unlimited sms/mms, call id, vm, whocalled) and it cost me $35 but they gave me a $10 discount because it was originally $25 when I signed on and they bumped the price up. took me a good 20 minutes talking to the girl back and forth to get it.

i was actually surprised how calm i was because they were basically screwing me over and she kept on saying 'nothing we can do'. i kept on saying things to pull the guilt trip card until she decided to throw that discount in

illicitstylz 11-17-2010 03:43 PM

On CM 6.1 , radio 4.06 , having troubles getting reception as SFU.
Considering flashing to radio 5.12, but curious if I can flash JUST the radio or do I have to do the whole Radio + ROM + gApps?

Gh0stRider 11-17-2010 03:51 PM

you can just do the radio, you dont have to reflash everything.
