It really depends if you need all the BB system. There are companies that invested so heavily to integrate their infrastructure with BB that keep using a BB might be a better idea.

If you are just a regular user, I'd say Nexus One can do everything your 9700 can and some more to spare. Anything in particular you use heavily on your 9700? I might be able to share some of my exp. using N1 in that area.

I honestly just use it for email and bbm and google maps ... I'm going to be getting an unlimited data plan with Wind so I was thinking i'd get more with the nexus one

Only thing I'm going to miss on my BB 9000 is the BBM. Everything else on there can be done with the Nexus One.

Go to Dial pad
Type: *#*#4636#*#*
Go to Phone information
Set the prefered network type to GSM Auto (PRL)

This supposedly saves battery life, and today was my first day with this setting, and indeed it does!

I did this, but my emails don't sync as often.

sign up on their website, http://beta.swype.com/, they should send you a email with the instructions.

Tim Budong 06-16-2010 01:52 AM

Swype is pretty neat, I was playing around with it on a moto quench the other day. It takes some time to get use to but afterwards, its u be typin quickly in no time.

And I realize how blOody fast I type on a blackberry. Suddenly this week my phone collection went from one phone to 4 phones......

w00tgasm 06-16-2010 02:42 AM

Yeah, I think I can type faster on the BB 9000 or 9700 even with the help of swype.

Either way, I'm kinda glad I left blackberry behind.

!MiKrofT 06-16-2010 08:43 AM

Wow. swype beta is a 6.5mb package. Although I still really like HTC IME.
