BMW 3 LWB..... Seems like China needs a LWB version of everything. How long before we see a Honda Fit/Toyota Echo LWB? Quote:

HELL YEAH HONDA FIT LWB Long cars to make up for short ________ (fill in the blank) |
Seems a bit odd to stretch a 3-series. Wouldn't it be a lot easier to make a budget-oriented 5-series model? A 523i, for example? Maybe they're concerned about maintaining the upscale image of the 5- and 7- series. |
Long cars to make up for short third leg ????????? |

Not sure if you guys know this, but my understanding is that in China most businessmen have chauffeurs. Therefore the owner is chilling in the BACK of the car. Hence the need for more back seat space. Anyone who's been to any major city in China (and probably elsewhere) knows this. BMW, Audi, and Mercedes all know this unique quirk of the Chinese. They'll have a ton of catching up to do though as almost every VIP-type car you see is an Audi. Not everyone in the world wants to be a driver. For all we know, they're wondering why everyone in North America wants do something as strange as sit in the driver's seat. ;) |
