| UBCSCC AutoX - Test your skillz!!1 - June 27, 2009 NEW OR RETURNING MEMBER SPECIAL!
If you require a license and have not autocrossed this year, we have a special offer of $40 for the complete day of racing. This includes a day-membership with $5 going towards a new membership if you choose to continue with the club. Test your skillz!!1
UBCSCC AutoX Membership Required
Date: Sunday, June 27, 2010
Location: BC Driving Centre
Cost: $35 by pre-registration via Karelo only
BY SIGNING UP YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ AND AGREE TO ALL CONDITIONS OF THE SUPPLEMENTAL REGULATIONS. Any violations of these regulations will result in an immediate end to your day - please read BEFORE signing up. Supplemental Regulations Following the AutoX 201, UBCSCC is proud to announce the "Test your skillz!!1" event, where competitors, new and old are offered a chance to put into practice the invaluable life and racing skillz imbued upon them by the UBCSCC instructors. Please note that this event is open to everyone, whether or not you have attended UBCSCC racing schools. TEST YOUR SKILLZ!!1
Most of the UBCSCC Instructor Team from Auto-X 201 (June 19th) will be out at this event. For this event only, we would like to present the HEAD-TO-HEAD INSTRUCTOR SHOWDOWN, only at the UBCSCC. At any time throughout the day, you can challenge a UBCSCC Instructor (whether you took the school or not) to beat your time in your car - your instructor comes with you for one run (this is your timed run), then the instructor will do a run in your car - anybody who manages to beat their instructor will be entered to win some cool prizes at the end of the day!
Please note that this event is capped at 50 people plus exec team members. Pre-registration via Karelo is mandatory. As outlined in the supplemental regulations, there will be absolutely no refunds or driver substitutions - if you are not sure you can attend, please do not pre-register.
There is absolutely ZERO TOLERANCE for any burnouts, reckless driving, or loud stereos on Ford Road at any time. Anyone caught breaking this rule will be immediately, and permanently, banned from all 3 local autocross clubs without warning. Registration check-in closes at 8:45am sharp. Please ensure you bring your vehicle to a complete stop and look both directions at the break in the fence in the driveway, to ensure no planes are approaching.
Good luck from all of us in your UBCSCC Executive Team.

Is the event on Saturday the 26th, or Sunday the 27th? I'm confused.

Well, I can't tell you about all of them, but I'll tell you that the smaller ones are things like hats, UBCSCC T-shirts, some decals from Toyo (our sponsor)...

What class would new drivers be in? Does it matter how modded the car is?

There are technically no newbie classes, you compete alongside the more experienced drivers. As far as classing goes, though, its based on what kind of car you have as well as what kind of modifications you have done to it. We run under the SCCA Solo 2 car classification rules which you can find here: http://www.scca.com/documents/Solo_R...solo_rules.pdf |

Berzerker, not at all.
To me it looks as though you'd be at least in SMF as you're running a turbo on a Honda motor. There was an SMF car that regularly came in first place not that long ago. There are a few exclusions that can push you out of that class, namely full interior gutting and so on. It's all in black and white in the rules I posted. As you can imagine, though, most racers at autocross are in it to have a little bit of fun with their cars and less so to win the prizes. Unless we're talking about the slush series that UBCSCC holds every winter... Then its all about the prizes (and there are MANY prizes!)

Well I have full suspension work, full motor build, different brakes and still full interior. My turbo doesn't make for good 1st and 2nd gear driving though.... no traction at all. Perhaps I'll just stay on the straight stuff haha.
Berz out.
