For those who are from Fido considering to switch to Wind.

Fido has got a new retention plan that they may or may not offer but you can certainly negotiate or ask for!

50$ - Unlimited calling Like city fido.

80$ - Unlimited Calling, SMS, 6GB DATA / BB / Regular Data.

There's no SAF and If you want caller id/ voicemail it's another 10$ add on.

Why would you stay with Fido over wind?

Fido:
Better reception, almost rogers/fido towers across the nation.
More reliable.
Won't have to cancel your contract so you don't get charged ECF
Don't have to be on a contract for this offer it can be month to month.
Don't have to sell your phone to get a phone from wind.
More phone selection?

Why Wind?
Well certainly the first 6 months their unl calling is only 22.50 so you save 22.50 x 6 months.
You get to call any no within canada.
Caller id + voicemail is free.
Long Distance is cheaper if your in states it makes out to be .25cents usd/min

And BTW I didn't get offered the plan in fido retentions right away. I knew they had this plan so I asked for the Unl CALLING/ texting + 6gb bb data option and the guy just said sure right away.

i got:

- country fido (same as city fido but unlimited local calling in any city in canada no matter where you go)
- 2500 text msg
- caller id
- voicemail
- no saf
- no contract
- $40

i tried calling again for better deal but that was pretty much it. Still gonna move over to wind cuz of their insanely cheap roaming rates.

Didn't Wind offer like $150 when you switched to offset the ECF? I remember seeing this as a promo awhile back.

I'm with Rogers and pay $67 tax in to for something similar. It's not unlimited calling but 250daytime and unlimited eve/wkd at 6pm which is more than enough for me.

Wind offered that to other cities but not in vancouver.

And darthchilli I woulda probably got CID free too so it would be 80 as well. But I felt bad since I had to ask for the plan! LOL so I don't mind the extra 10.

The guy was just like yeah sure uh huh and let me do whatever basically LOL

there's no such thing as unlimited nights/weekends with wind. It's either unlimited anytime or just the 100 mins with the $15 package. But you get unlimited calling to/from a wind number.
