Kovalev hardly had any work ethic to consistently fight through defenders in a game.

One and one though, he was money.

kovalev is right up there in terms of pure skill. he just doesn't really work hard and has limited hockey sense.

ARBITRATOR RULES IN FAVOUR OF NHL ON KOVALCHUK'S CONTRACT

An independent arbitrator has ruled in favour of the National Hockey League in the case of Ilya Kovalchuk.

Richard Bloch, the arbitrator, ruled today that Kovalchuk's 17-year, $102 million contract with the New Jersey Devils should be voided, so the 27-year old sniper will once again be on the free agent market. Bloch denied the NHL Players' Association's grievance on Kovalchuk's behalf, ruling that the league was within its legal rights to reject the contract.

hopefully kovalchuk ends up in russia for being such a greedy prick and with that it makes bettman look bad for chasing talent out of the nhl.

he shouldn't be makeing crosby/ovechkin money for what he brings to the game. he's willing to walk away from the best league in the world with the best talent just to get his money. players who love the game and want to win will take discounts much like a number of the signings the canucks have made this season.

I hope the right thing for kovy to do is to maybe sign a contract with the devils with something like what Luongo, Zetteberg and Hossa have in stored

I can't wait for it to come out, mainly because so many damn teams are doing the faceoff looping when they are losing in EASHL, so damn annoying.

My team beat the #1 team in the casual league 5-0 and they were DEFINITELY trying to loop us.

NHL is going after the Hossa, Datsyuk and Luongo contracts right now. They're "reviewing" them right now and apparently they might pull them.

I hate that! There's a lot of glitches though, like the pullback wrister that goes in 90% of the time if the D can't defend it. They kinda fixed wraparounds but I still see a guy get 4 goals a game from it from time to time.
