This is the playoffs, not some exhibition game.
Shit like this shouldn't be missed on such a skewed level.
I don't know what game you guys were watching,
cause a bunch of you guys seem to think the ref did an absolute good job today,
without being able to argue any of those facts.
Sure, maybe the outcome of the game would have been the same...
I don't know. But the consistency of today's officiating was just horrible,
and I didn't see it this bad in any of the previous games in this series.
I really don't know what to expect on Tuesday anymore. This is depressing.

They lose in the first round he's done period. Up 3-0 and being the 1st seed and still losing. I don't know what else it would take for him to be fired. I'm an AV fan but I cannot accept him back if they lose in this round or even the second. This isn't Buffalo where the stars leave every 2-3 years. The core here is locked long term so the only real significant change you can make to the culture on the team is having a new coach.
About the game tonight. The team pissed me off in the 3rd and in OT. I saw so many plays where the forwards threw the puck at Crawford from insanely bad angles hoping for garbage goal and all he does is just snatch the puck and kills any momentum. However it was still a good effort by the Canucks it's just they didn't create many "sure" scoring chances like they did in the first 3 games.
To end my rant. I hope Schnieds starts on Tues, as much as I'd love to say Lu is going to play game 7 with a ton of motivation to prove himself, I can't. He seems mentally weak, his coach basically just told the world he doesn't believe in him, its game 7 at home in front of 19 k fans who are going to say he choked if they lose and I'm sure that thought keeps going through him. Schnieds looks calm, cool and unrattled by Chicago, start him.

There's always talk about big changes every year we crap out of the playoffs, yes it's different this time around but my bet is AV stays coach and not much else goes on during the off season but it'll be interesting to see what happens with Cory. I heard some callers on the radio saying that the Canucks ownership should force Lu out and get him to waive his no trade but that will happen when it rains monkey shit. Lu is still a good marketing tool for the team, he sells stuff but if that declines than maybe the owners will take a look.

Schneider did play well though, but he has the same problems as old-Luongo
with playing the puck. Schneider needs to just stay in. Going for the puck is
not worth it in playoffs. That 2nd goal was so costly. Chicago's going to start
throwing them down to lure him out next game if Schneider's starting again.
Evertime the Canucks score, they couldn't maintain the momentum to snuff out
the blackhawks. I was just facepalming on Schneider's giveaway... Quote:

it was a good hit or a blindside hit. I think Rule 48 is still in effect even if the
player has possession of the puck. But then again, maybe it was in OT, and
the refs just decided to say fuck it, and let it go. Since the flow of OT was
pretty smooth.

Bieksa was asked about the hit during his post game interview and he brushed off it and said he dishes enough hits so it's ok if he takes a hit like the one last night once in a while..

With how close most of the games have been, I think the discipline of both
teams were quite equal on each game. Usually when one team plays rough,
the other team's matching the intensity. Whether one team got more calls or not is
another story. I can't recall for other games, but today's was horrible.
I really believe in playing one shift at a time, one period at a time, and one game at a time.
For all I'm concern, Canucks need to win one more game.
Whether it's playing 16 games or 28 games to get the cup, if Canucks advance,
I don't think the mental challenge of almost blowing a 3-0 series lead will be a
factor in the next round, vs a new team. Everything will be reset, no one will
remember about almost losing to the Blackhawks, and life will move on.

Look what happened to Bryzgalov in Phoenix in Game 4. And you underestimate the adjustments that Quenville may have made over the series. Maybe the same passing lanes weren't available in the last 2 games? The Sedins looked dangerous every shift and the re-invented 2nd line with Kes, Burr, and Raymond was also very dangerous. Heck, even Lapierre and Higgins had some chances.
We had a 2-on-1 in the 3rd and a 4-on-2 in OT that we didn't convert. We were creating enough opportunities, but we just didn't have the finish.

Might want to look at that Troy Brouwer penalty yo
That was a freebie, and IIRC that's the penalty where Burrows hit the post. Would have been game right there.
So everyone stop bitching. Calls go both ways.. Sometimes one team will get 1 or more fluke calls/non-calls, sometimes it's the other team. There's no conspiracy to take out the Canadian teams with bad officiating...

Just didn't seem like it was just one lobsided call this game.
I don't recall the Brouwer penalty, but if it was weak, so was Raymond's, which gave them
a 5 on 3. Even Torres was a bit iffy, considering the Dman shoved him into Crawford, but okay, I'll give them that.
But the call on Raymond was silly. All the extra hitting on the Canucks after the whistle were not called.
Until Campbell got called at the end of 2nd period, when they decided to give Henrik a diving call as well for a trade off.
If there was one fluke call for Browuer, didn't make up for a list of missed/iffy ones on Canucks.
Anyway, I'll move on now. One more game left, play for whatever it's worth.
I'm overall more choked about what's happening now (with pissing away game 4 and 5)
than one game I thought that had obvious bad officiating.

Stat of the week: Ballard has been on for 0 GA in the entire series. That includes the 7-2 blowout. Yes scratch our 4.2 million dollar d-man coach.

Any one speculate what the fans at the Canucks game will do if they lose game 7? After the season the Canucks have had I dont think too many people will be clapping for them.

Depends on how they lose. If Luongo shits the bed again, look out. If it's another game like this... well they fucked up but it wasn't the epic meltdown it could have been. Just 2 games were.
