Schneider did play well though, but he has the same problems as old-Luongo
with playing the puck. Schneider needs to just stay in. Going for the puck is
not worth it in playoffs. That 2nd goal was so costly. Chicago's going to start
throwing them down to lure him out next game if Schneider's starting again.
He handles the puck really well and started the play for one of our goals. He just needs to pick his spots. BUT he's a playoff rookie, so you have to expect mistakes.
One thing I wonder is, if the Canucks didn't embellish so much and try to draw penalties, maybe they would get more of the marginal calls go their way?
Any one speculate what the fans at the Canucks game will do if they lose game 7? After the season the Canucks have had I dont think too many people will be clapping for them.
No one's going to clap for this team if they have a first round exit,
against a team clearly were not supposed to be better, after having a
3-0 lead in the series. The only people clapping are going to be the
bandwagoners that just jumped on during the playoffs and had no idea why
this year's team was supposed to have a legitimate cup run, unlike all the
other years when it was just talk. Even if they played hard and lost a nail
biter, the game itself wasn't an epic failure, but the series as a whole was...
and the teasing of being the best team in almost every category, and choking
so hard in the playoffs is going to leave any longtime fan extremely bitter.

I doubt there will be any riots. Police are more prepared every playoffs to
make sure 94 riot will never repeat itself. But I don't think there's enough
angry people to form a riot for a first round exit anyway. Not enough people will care.

Canucks started their 1994 journey to the Cup after blowing 3 games to Flames and came back to win 3 straight to advance to the next round and eventually the finals. I have faith.

The playoffs are called a new season for a reason - hey, that rhymes - I'm a poet and I didn't even know it.......
In the playoffs, you often see a team that gets in by the skin of their teeth do well. Some teams gel together in the process of making it in - peaking at the right time. Chicago played well in all the games so far. As someone else mentioned previously, the first three games were close. As Canucks fans, we saw those first three games in a different light. In the next three games, everything went their way. Momentum is so powerful in sports. Doesn't make sense, but the Russians sure found out the hard way in the Series of the Century back in 72.
In the playoffs, you cannot take any team or any game, for that matter, lightly. It's war and you have to play like there is no tomorrow. I am confident the 7th and final game will be ours. The fans at "whatever" arena better be there for the team.
BTW, I'm glad SSSssssss is OK. I knew it was cramping by the way he was rolling around trying to find a good position, which is hard to do with all that equipment. Must have been really painful. It sounds like he's had that problem before.

The ones that piss me off are the ones that are painfully blatant. Two HUGE missed calls in the third - the stick in Danny's face, and the slash on Hank's stick right in front of the net. I mean, everyone's clustering around the net, the ref is RIGHT FUCKING THERE, how do you miss a guy swinging his stick over-hand to slash another guy's stick??

The stick never went near Daniel's face... He sold it like it did, but the closest it got was grazing the side of his visor, or maybe his ear. Even on a shitty ustream I could tell that he was bullshitting it
^how was raymonds poke to the shoulder a penalty and daniels stick to at the very least to the helmet not a penalty? I do believe the canucks are imbellishing alil bit because the refs refuse to call the obvious ones against the hawks.
Im really hoping we put in our good luck charm tambi in. If he cant score im hoping his speed will at the very least draw a penalty. Im hoping Torres is out cause right now the refs are waiting to call a penalty on him for anything right now. We can all forget about Games 1-6 its alll about one game now and i do have faith that the Canucks will pull this one out.

The shattered stick, that's pretty bad.
Doesn't have to touch his face to still be a high stick.

I had much more confidence in sssss than lu. Lu wouldnt stop those 5 on 3 shots. Posted via RS Mobile
So the 5 on 3 that the Canucks killed in game 3 wasn't because Lu could stop anything right? All you idiots who look only at the score board need to be shot. Schneider let in 3 of 17 shots... or something along those lines... That isn't exactly great stats... Yes he made some key saves, but his save % wasn't ideal, especially for playoffs. The Canucks in general have to tighten it up, they have let in 3+ goals in 3 straight games. They didn't do that at all in the regular season.
Goalies don't get shutouts because they're the only player on the team that plays well/ don't get lucky at times
Goalies don't get shelled because they're the only BAD player on the team/ don't get unlucky at times.
You shouldn't need exceptional goaltending to win in the playoffs.. Look at Niemi last year. He didn't play great. Even though everyone thinks he was superb, just because the Hawks kept winning... Look at philly.. they forced a game 7 and they have not had ONE goalie play ONE good game. the Canucks are making Crawford look good. He is good and has been good, but nothign excpetional. He got lucky when Burrows hit that post, and so far all the tips have missed the net, and the shots from the point have hit him square.
In a 7 game series, the best team will win. if the Canucks didn't let up in game 4 and 5, it would be over. They cam out gunning last night, and they got somewhat unlucky. It happens. You won't get bad luck all series long, but they put themselves into a situation where they had one unlucky game and now it forced them to a do or die fate.

I agree torres should be scratched. He has no scoring abilities and Tammer will add a lot of speed to the forecheck.. He will def make the most out of his oppurtunities.. I am also glad AV finally put burr back with kesler... when the sedins arent producing, burrows does not as well, and the twins cant match burrs speed anyways... samuelsson played well as he is very patient with the puck... sometimes a bit too patient (esp when playing on the point of the pp)
Apparently when ur the Sedins u dont get those calls which is surprising. Leading scorers in the league, MVPs, having a good repore with the refs and still nothing.....
I'm usually pretty unbiased when I'm analyzing calls,
but tonight in particular, it was pretty bad. I didn't see Canucks
get away with anything, and Blackhawks got away with a ton of stuff,
including highstick on daniel, puck over the glass,
no delay of game call on the icing when they decided to put out a fresh line,
not even that, they give them a TV timeout.
This is the playoffs, not some exhibition game.
Shit like this shouldn't be missed on such a skewed level.
I don't know what game you guys were watching,
cause a bunch of you guys seem to think the ref did an absolute good job today,
without being able to argue any of those facts.
Sure, maybe the outcome of the game would have been the same...
I don't know. But the consistency of today's officiating was just horrible,
and I didn't see it this bad in any of the previous games in this series.
I really don't know what to expect on Tuesday anymore. This is depressing.
It was a badly reffed game, but you can't blame reffing on the way the Canucks let up in game 4 and 5... If they lose, it won't be because of game 6 or even whatever happens in game 7. When you don't play hard and want the easy way out, things will bite you in the ass. The Canucks allowed the Hawks to get back in the series, not the Hawks "forcing" a game 7.
I hope Ballard starts Tuesday. I don't know why you would take out Ballard when he would get just as much playtime as Alberts generally would.. LAst I checked, Ballard was the only even player in the 7-2 loss in game 4. He even had a his playoff high of 15 mins that game.
Apparently when ur the Sedins u dont get those calls which is surprising. Leading scorers in the league, MVPs, having a good repore with the refs and still nothing.....
That's how you know the refs are REALLY blind, when a stick right through the visor still doesn't get a high-sticking call.
Or maybe they think he put the stick there himself? You know those rotten Sedins and their embellishment...
