It's just weird to be covering your mouth while discussing if something should be a penalty or not.

yay for transparency... naaaat.

one of the posts from the video...that's pretty interesting.

Canucks players have had 4 or 5 misconducts, plus most of those penalties took place in the two blowout games, where the Canucks were gooning it up in the 3rd periods.

So those numbers are pretty much meaningless.

lol team 1040 just mentioned that CanucksHD video on inconsistent officiating in game 6

I like how I was the only one bitching about the horrible officiating last night,
but apparently someone else thought the officiating was fine.

At least we have video evidence now.

Torres and Bickell hit looked similar... but wasn't the same.
But either way, Torres got the call for interference, and Bickell should have got a call for charging.
Even if we throw this out, all the other more obvious things like highstick in the face, puck over the glass,
timeout to clean the ice, stick breaking, there's just too many things that didn't get called that are not even
borderline.

Everyone who watches hockey (except Chicago fans) should be able to tell the officiating was bad. Game 6 wasn't the first night that even the commentators were baffled.

I think the number of powerplays is a more telling stat. Chicago has 27 (2nd most) powerplays to our 16 (3rd least, only Boston and Detroit has fewer due to fewer games played). 2 of those 16 powerplays came at the end of Game 4 where the game was completely out of hand already.

The average discrepancy of powerplays in the other series excluding ours is around less than 3 while ours is at 11.

Again, how many of those PP's came when the canucks were in goon mode?

The Torres hit wasn't a penalty for the charging, blindside, or elbowing, or anyhting like that. It was interference.

If you are saying the Bickell hit was like the Torres hit, with the exception that Bieksa had the buck, then you should understand exactly why one was a penalty. One was for interference, one wasn't.

What I meant was, the hit appeared the same. Shoulder/Elbow hit to the chin/upper chest region. The play was different. Yes, it was already mentioned, Bickell more or less leaped at Bieksa.

Iam so confident that the canucks will win... IAM GOING TO GAME 7 woooo

One game could define a franchise

Right now, Vancouver knows where it stands, and it knows the only thing that can change it. They had a basketball team and they lost it, but that was a blip, really. But the hockey team — that's the sun in Vancouver, whether it's raining or not. And with a Game 7 looming against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night — a Game 7 that could simply devastate the franchise — Vancouver is on the edge of a very deep municipal depression. The 3-0 lead and all the redemption it promised is gone, now; all that's left is one game. One game, and handshakes.

So is Vancouver panicking? Some people are, and some people are probably pretending not to. TEAM 1040 morning host Scott Rintoul said he thought the defining mood was one of forced and willful optimism — that people were taking solace in the way the Canucks competed while losing Game 6 in overtime, rather than collapsing — because, as he put it, "I get the sense people have been disappointed so many times they can't bear to imagine being that disappointed again."

I would love to see a Canucks player come out and guarentee a win (not Luongo for obvious reasons). Like Messier did back in 94.

Canucks fans just want everything to go their way, 100% of the time. Sometimes it doesn't.

That disparity in penalty minutes is somewhat troubling though

well you can argue that when sedin got slashed.. and that didn't get called.. doesn't mean it wasn't slashing.. calls were missed in a very close game with a lot on the line... i guess it is easier for refs to NOT make a close call rather to have a series ending game a result of a penalty BUT with that said... if they wer eplaying it safe.. the frolik call should have been tripping.

it is probably a lot more frustrating for fans to watch.. sure it is annoying as a player too.. but if you have played hockey or any sport before... you take one game at a time.. and that is how you succeed.. if they canucks take it one game at a time and do everythign in their power they will win.. justlike in game 1. Hawks will be tired... the only time the Hawks actually looked fresh was in game 4 and 5 when the Canucks weren't pressing and forcing their D. Toews and the hawks D looked wasted in OT.. If it went into double ot, the nucks would have won for sure.

Anyways, I am goign to stop posting and until the game tomorrow..

BTW Go kings Go!

These are the powerplays after the score was out of hand (offsetting penalties excluded):

Game 4:
3rd: 02:14 VAN Maxim Lapierre : Boarding - 2 min
3rd: 04:05 VAN Jannik Hansen : Boarding - 2 mi
3rd: 13:09 VAN Alexander Edler : Charging - 2 min
3rd: 19:23 VAN Maxim Lapierre : Unsportsmanlike conduct - 2 min

3rd: 16:20 CHI Niklas Hjalmarsson : Roughing - 2 min
3rd: 17:56 CHI Ryan Johnson : Roughing - 2 min

Game 5:
3rd: 10:22 VAN Mikael Samuelsson : Hi stick - double minor - 4 min

2nd: 13:49 CHI Dave Bolland : Unsportsmanlike conduct - 2 min
3rd: 06:37 CHI Marian Hossa : Hooking - 2 min

6 meaningless powerplays for them to our 4. Take those out and its still 21 to 12 for them.

Watch Gillis' interview. He mentions the PP stats.

Anyway, maybe Canucks need to revisit this game?
