Who doesn't want to score 60 goals and earn $8M + a year in your occupation.
Doctors retain their earning capacity until their retirement. Hockey players only have a small window in their late 20's/early 30's until their retirement or injuries.
All this "love of the game" is just your typical Disney sentimental bullshit. Yes undoubtedbly these guys love their hockey but at the end of the day, hockey has to pay the bills long after their career is done.
Secondly, neither is Luongo an $8M goalie but that's what he wanted and what he got. The only reason why Luongo is a cap hit of $5M and Kovalchuk at $6M is because both players are being signed past their forties. Seriously, other than the hype, what are Luongo's credentials that value him at $8M? A gold medal? A Vezina nomination? A 1st Round Play Off achievement? | so who do you think will earn more in their careers? a doctor making say... 400k a year... and lets assume he starts making his 400k a year at 25years old and he works till 65. 400k X 40 years = $16mill. how much did kovy make in his past 5 years? he's made 20+ million dollars as per cap geek. dont' give me that bullshit where players need to pay their bills after their careers are over. they've made enough money in their short careers.
and i've gotta agree that kovalev doesn't belong with teh lemieuxs, gretzkys and orrs of the game, but he's not complete shit. he did something right to accumulate all those points. he'll probably go down as a good player but not a GREAT player. his skills are undeniable though.

The ticket plan allows fans to pick seats, name a price and learn within 24 hours if their offer has been accepted. The offer, which runs through this week, is available for seats in the lower and upper bowls and club level at BankAtlantic Center. Retail prices range from $60 to $130 per seat per game. Potential buyers could have their offers accepted, be offered another location for that price or work out a different agreement.

Most of us probably made over 200K in the past 5 years, but im pretty sure we spent atleast 75% of it. The more money u make the more money u spend, and when ur making alot of money ur accustomed to that lifestyle all the time. Like Noir said when there career is over, they would like to enjoy there lives without worry about money, and dont u think they wanna make enough so there own kids dont have to worry about it? Have there parents retire early or something like that?

I like Ferraro...him and Rintoul should be pretty funny together.
Nothing is mentioned about Pratt and Taylor...I'm thinking Taylor might get a better gig with the SportsNet 1...as for Pratt..who knows...

EDIT: Pratt and Tayor show untouched and still at 3pm...
Ferraro wanted to talk about other sports and that's why he joined the morning show. He will continue working with TSN for Wednesday games..

Bmac and Rintoul were awesome always together, I like Ferraro as well, but he's not much of a comedian and during the mornings, i rather listen to comedic nonsense during the morning traffic, but i guess we'll have to see how it goes before we can judge.
I love listening to Jim Rome too, he use to come on at 10am before the line ups changed, anyone know which station and time he is on now or do i have to stream from the net?
