I tend to like watching games alone when it is important.. i was at home for the gold medal game.. i really don't think the sedins can step it up and match their regular season stats/dominance.. they just don't have the intensity.. I am sure they have the will, but they aren't gritty enough.

And after seeing the reply of ben Smiths goal for the 100th time, I now believe it was more Sedins fault than Lus... Lu made the save but Daniel looked back staring at the rebound, rather than just sticking with Smith and keeping his stick tied up... Lu would have been able to pounce and cover up the puck.. too much watching by the Sedins in their own zone.

I haven't looked at the +/- of the other lines, but I am sure they are all pretty good except the Sedins... So they are the ones taht need to step it up (especially defensively) if the Canucks have a chance.. Not luongo, not kesler, not higgins, not so much the actual D.

kristianhay 04-26-2011 10:17 AM

Read on CDC that Ballard has confirmed he is playing. Also read that Glass confirmed he is playing, so Hodgson out? Also, Salo wasn't out for game day skate so Alberts is likely in.

Spidey 04-26-2011 10:19 AM

I hope they keep burrows kesler and raymond together...they really need a rough and tumbler with the sedins though... torres???? lol...

Gumby 04-26-2011 10:22 AM

Yeah I find that the Sedins are pretty good in the offensive zone, but in our own end, they're just too soft! Pin people the the boards, fight to regain puck possession (with everything you've got, and not just your stick), etc. And throw a hit or two on Bolland while you're at it.

Daniel is -2, Henrik is -4. The only players even or better are Kesler, Burrows, Hansen, Raymond and Higgins. The same guys making plays and scoring goals. Might be inflated a bit by the 7-2 blowout though. But EVERYONE needs to have the game of their careers tonight and leave everything out there, to prove to themselves that they can get rid of the demon that is Chicago once and for all.

hotjoint 04-26-2011 10:25 AM

Tons of hardcore canuck fans I know are watching the game at home alone today. My one friend who worships the nucks is staying home because he said that if they lose he won't be able to take it. I'm going to a buddy's house to watch. We usually go to a bar or a buddies to watch but I guess everyone wants to do their own thing tonight.

TouringTeg 04-26-2011 10:30 AM

Agree ^^ There will either be tears of joy or tears of pain. Either way it is going to be intense.

kristianhay 04-26-2011 10:36 AM

Again, from CDC. Dunno about that fourth line, though they probably won't see a whole lot of ice.

Sedin Sedin Samuelsson
Raymond-Kesler-Burrows
Higgins-Lapierre-Hansen
Torres-Glass-Oreskovich

Hamhuis-Bieksa
Edler-Ehrhoff
Ballard-Alberts

Luongo
Schneider

Spidey 04-26-2011 10:36 AM

anyone realize that the whole seeding/favourite thing is overrated? I mean all the teams taht make the playoffs are good. These days, the only real guaranteed win is if you are playing against a team that is the bottom 3 in the conference.... and even then it isn't 100%.

the hawks may have lost a lot of role guys but they still have Hossa, Toews, Kane, Seabrook, Keith, Campbell, Sharp.... honestly, imo, that seems scarier than Daniel, Henrik, Kesler, Burrows, Edler, Ehrhoff, Bieksa Luongo.. I don't know what it is but there seems to be too many euros on as our "top" players....Edler can play hard, but sedins are a wash when its a rough game... Burrows is streaky in his scoring... Bieksa can be a beast or a liability....

AzNightmare 04-26-2011 10:37 AM

Damn, can't believe Ehrhoff is -5.
AV should have benched Samuelsson in one of the previous games when we still had time.
He seems to react very well whenever he gets snubbed.

Hoping he can perform somewhat like last post-season.

Jsunu 04-26-2011 10:39 AM

Fuck im fucking anxious.... I just can't believe an entire president trophy season hinges on one fucking game.

I am just a fan and I am this anxious, imaging how the players feel.

funny how i got failed when i said sedins needs to step up and produce before this series even started... its the key to win games

now people are blaming the sedins are too soft..

Sedins are good but i have yet to see them play the way they played in regular season in the last few years...

players generally feel more excited not scared.. fans usually feel worse because they have NO control during the game and the outcome.. players at least have their part.. whether it was a great game by them or an off game, they can reflect at certain instances they could have changed, and or can change... for fans.. we sit there and watch... with no control... but hope...

a player can decide exactly what he is going to do... shoot, pass.. hold it... skate harder on the forecheck... backcheck or coast... that is why the best team/the team that wants it the most will win... and players will admit they were beat.. no excuses... i honestly believe that all this chicago demons and in the heads of the canucks players is BS.. maybe for luongo, but as a player, you take each game at a time and you don't swell in the past once the pucl drops. that is for the fans and media to hype/ worry about.. if the canucks do win it, they will think of it as... winning a series... took 7 games but in the end they won 4 before they lost 4.. you think anyone will be talking about this series if the canucks end up in the finals?

also, philly is on the verge of an epic fail as well.. no goaltending.. being 2nd seeds.. on the brink by the sabres who have been injury riddled/ didn't even look like they were going to make the playoffs a month into the season!

rsx 04-26-2011 10:54 AM

I'm so disgusted with that dive Henrik took, I think that really sums up what he brings in terms of leadership, heart, and mental fortitude in this series. For crying out loud, he has that "C" on his chest and instead of stepping up and getting in the face of that guy or just walking off, he decides he wants to challenge Natalie Portman's Oscar-winning performance in Black Swan.

AzNightmare 04-26-2011 11:03 AM

^ Kesler for Captain next season? :troll:

At least everyone knows that Philly has shitty goaltending. They at least have an excuse. We're supposed to be solid throughout the line up.

Roach 04-26-2011 11:07 AM

Going to grab a nice bottle of scotch, some nice cheeses and watch the game at a buddy's place with some friends.

I thought about buying a couple of tickets to tonight's game but don't want to be kicking myself if things don't go well.

Hopefully the drinks will take the nerves off.

Personally I wasn't ecstatic about Hank wearing the C. I've looked past it and let it go during the regular season because the team was playing well overall and there wasn't much 'leadership' type situation where he stepped up anyways. Obviously I can't say what goes on in the dressing room, but he definitely doesn't sound like the type of player to get his team back in, or give some sort of motivational speech in the locker room. And yeah, neither was Lu. I'm not saying swap captains, but in hindsight I think Kesler might have been a better choice. A lot of people were on the fence about Sedins or Kes for the C when this was still being discussed almost a thousand pages back.

7seven 04-26-2011 11:31 AM

I could not sleep at all last night, my two favorite teams the Sabres and Canucks both have game 7s tonight. I spent all night trying to decide which one of my 7 Sabres jerseys I was going to be lucky for me to wear tonight haha. Normally I watch games at the bar or go to them, but for today I'm planning to head to a buddies, we'll have 2 50" tvs setup next to each other just in case the Sabres game goes into OT.

I don't trust or believe in the Sedins to setup up into that extra playoff gear. Hopefully they prove me wrong, but I'm not holding my breath.

RiceIntegraRS 04-26-2011 11:32 AM

I wanted to watch the game alone but then i realised when i watched the game with my buddy were 3-0 and when i didnt we were 0-3. Im gonna do my part n watch it with him. Hopefully cry out tears of joy

Too important of a game. I can't stand watching with a bunch of people
who yell out unknowledgeable hockey comments throughout the game.

RiceIntegraRS 04-26-2011 11:47 AM

^true that, the only guys i actually like watching it with r my other buddies that follow the canucks like a religion. And its not surprising that we play ice hockey aswell
