For moments like the "last second tying goal then winning in OT" game 1 against minnesota in 2003 and the "last few seconds tying goal but losing in OT" game 7 against calgary in 2004, even tho we lost both series and it was heartbreaking at the time, I can still rewatch those moments again no problem.

But for any great moments against either Chicago series, I cannot. I don't know why.

Forsberg's days playing hockey prob done?

Quote:

t appears as though Peter Forsberg's numerous injuries may finally have gotten the best of him.

In an interview with Swedish television station TV6 following an exhibition game in his home country, the two-time Stanley Cup champion was not optimistic about his chances of continuing to play professional hockey.

"It's no good," Forsberg told TV6. "I have no balance skating. If it continues to be as it is today, I will not continue playing."

The 36-year old Forsberg has not played in the NHL since a nine-game stint with the Colorado Avalanche in the 2007-08 season. He has battled injuries throughout his illustrious career, and a recurring foot problem limited him to just 23 games this past year with MODO of the Swedish Elite League. Despite the injury, he managed to score 11 goals and add 19 assists.

He was healthy enough to skate for his country at the Olympics, however he was largely ineffective, managing a solitary assist in four games as Sweden bowed out early. He helped lead the 'Tre Kronor' to Olympic gold in 1994 and again in 2006.

While Forsberg stated that he was disappointed, he was not ready to completely close the door on his professional career. He plans to take some time off and then continue training in his home town of Ornskoldsvik.

"We may give it a week," Forsberg told TV6. "The foot, I can not do anything about the equipment but it could get better."

I remember reading from somewhere that his foot was slightly deformed from birth. Can anyone confirm this?

Canucks to bring Stanley Cup home
Hockey News says it's 'Nucks year

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - The Hockey News has made a prediction many in Vancouver will like. The hockey's Bible has predicted a winner for the Stanley Cup this season, and it's none other than our own Vancouver Canucks.

The magazine calls Canucks a "title-starved team," which it says has all the pieces in place to win the Cup this year.

There's no limit on talent that the Canucks have with a current holder of the Hart Trophy Henrik Sedin, and his equally talented brother Daniel. A couple of additions to an already good blue line also look reassuring with Dan Hamhuis and Keith Ballard, a collection of good forwards including Ryan Kesler, Mason Raymond, Alex Burrows and newcomer Manny Malhotra, led by their Captain, gold-medal winning goaltender Roberto Luongo.

The Hockey News also suggests the Canucks will finish the regular season top of the Western Conference and take home the President's Trophy. The road to Vancouver's most successful season since 1994 begins October 9th against LA Kings.

Incidentally, the team joined the NHL 40 years ago, so maybe 40th time's the charm.
woooo!!

E-40six 08-14-2010 08:01 AM

The Hockey News also predicted that all of the canuck players this year will regress in their development
