Well, Pierre McGuire was the first to call Burrows a monster after a game on TSN... and that's where it took off from.

Way more exciting watching on Versus. The audio on CBC muffles out so much crowd noise and makes it seem like the fans aren't cheering as loud.

The sound might be better. But you can't beat Jim Hughson calling the game.

Speaking of which...

Blackhawks with Seabrooks in the lineup: 0-4
Blackhawks with John Scott in the lineup 3-0

Not entirely true... Seabrook was back in Game 6.

Yeah it's stupid like that. The scheduling has been messed up for a long time now. I remember the good old days when each conference plays on alternate days. So every team gets one day off in between games. None of this back to back and 2 day breaks in between. Canucks didn't even get a Saturday game this series.

And I don't know why Montreal's schedule was so slow, and now they have game 6 and 7 back to back.

Sucks that Canucks' can't even get a 2 day break before their first game.

Because hockey is second fiddle to the NBA and the Celtics are in the playoffs.

Still thinking about it :D

Actually, yeah... and Scott played game 3.

Blackhawks with Seabrooks in the lineup: 1-4
Blackhawks with John Scott in the lineup 3-1

Can't argue there. But then I have to change channels during intermissions. Can't stand those 3 stooges.

So has the NHL announced when our next game will be played?

WTF? Apparently game one is Thursday at 6pm.

Ticketmaster has it listed on their site as well.

There was a scheduling conflict for the Bell Centre, they had a 2 day break between games 3 and 4 because of a Rush concert in Montreal and since the second round was scheduled to begin Thursday, today was the last day to get in a game for round 1.

sonick 04-27-2011 10:07 AM

Henrik getting a little cocky post-game:

“They had no business being in the series,” Sedin said. “We outplayed them badly for five games.”

"Henrik: We were the best team in five games. They had no business being in this series"

Repeated multiple times in the interviews, apparently Daniel said it too.

Gumby 04-27-2011 10:10 AM

^
Yeah, considering the Sedins were not the difference maker in the series...

well it was true was it not? they owned the hawks in game 7 and game 6..

s300ae 04-27-2011 10:14 AM

yeah, but toews got cocky and look how he sparked the team.

Jsunu 04-27-2011 10:16 AM

Does anyone have more insight on the canucks vs preds? All I hear is that is going to be a grinder low scoring series. Is this the case?

It is just hard to get out of the blackhawk mindset after so many years lol.

Greenstoner 04-27-2011 10:20 AM

SOB gonna pick a fight with Ballard

fliptuner 04-27-2011 10:29 AM

I think tomorrow's game is going to be very straight forward. Play the obvious basics. Once the team gets a feel for what the Pred's are doing and how to adapt, it should get more exciting.

I'm sure they're still going to be in Hawk-kill mode, which might not be a bad thing since the defence was so good in the last 2 games. Also, the Preds might not have as good an answer to the Sedin's as the Hawks so maybe they can pick up their game. We've also got momentum on our side.

What an awesome game 7 last night, totally made up for my other team the Sabres getting rolled in their game 7. Few observations, we had both the CBC and the Versus feed for the Canucks game, and wow does CBC ever use some massive sound filters in Rogers Arena. Watching the feed on Versus, Rogers Arena was extremely loud, atmosphere was great, rivalling the Bell Centre. While at the same exact time on the CBC feed, Rogers Arena was really quite. NBC, Versus and TSN production wise >>>>>>>>>>>CBC.

A few players really stepped up their games for game 7 last night, noticeable Kesler, Burrows, Luongo, Hansen, Hamhuis, Higgins, Lapierre and Oreskovich. What I found extremely disturbing was the Sedins, while they had a couple good shifts and weren’t horrible, there was absolutely no urgency to their game and were extremely soft on the puck. Oh and again, Kesler, wow what a beast!

Totally agree. Seems like the Sedins are still in regular season mode. The positive spin is that our team can still get better.

Love how we played aggressive all game. The D held the line and closed the gap. The forwards supported and back-checked. Also, loved Lu's demeanor all game. Now someone please put some krazy glue in his glove hand. Haha.

Preds have 4 lines that can score. They have depth up and down their roster. They have some incredible defense that's almost as good as ours, along with arguably one of the best goalies in the league currently.

highfive 04-27-2011 10:32 AM

Why do I get the feeling we'll be facing 3 bitter players that we didn't retain from last year's team?

Chicago - Ryan Johnson
Nashville - Shane O'Brien
Assuming San Jose - Kyle Wellwood

All three of these players said shit how the Canucks don't have success in the post-season etc...

1.) Voting is based on the regular season
2.) If you're looking at playoff stats, Toews is also a nominee - how many goals did kesler have?

b0unce. [?] 04-27-2011 10:36 AM

Preds are legitimately scary lol.
