He built most of the foundation and "core" team of the Canucks. Left the team for Nonis to continue, but as we all know, Nonis only had a year or so to attempt to build his team but was shipped off without his 3 year "gm trial period" or whatever you want to call it. I dont need to go into much detail but Burke went to Anaheim and won a cup. So I mean, I wouldn't say he's a retard.
thats just my 2 cents

Vancouver he did pretty good for the most part, I'll give him that. Getting the Sedin's at the draft was a legacy we are still reaping the benefits of.
Most of the team in Anaheim that won the cup was assembled before Burke came in. He added a few final pieces to the puzzle.
Toronto has so far been a wash. He's made a few decent moves, but a lot of crap that has me scratching my head.
As I see it, he has lost his touch that made him a really good GM in the late 90's and early part of the 2000's.

Not really. Burke got rid of a lot of the dead weight in Anaheim prior to the Cup. Trading that Fedorov contract for Wright and Beauchemen was amazing.
He also brought in Niedermayer, Pronger, and re-signed Selanne.

Burke / Anaheim argument could go on forever. Bottom line is they won a cup. Can't argue with that. Posted via RS Mobile |

Pronger wanted to get the hell out of Edmonton, so Burke swooped in. Selanne spent the lockout year rehabbing his knee and didn't want to play anywhere else but Anaheim. The acquisitions they made put them over the top, but Murray had his fingerprints all over that cup winning team too. And this is coming from a die hard Ducks fan.

Telus TV, Novus, etc... who service BC also haven't come to an licensing agreement with Rogers yet either, it's expected Shaw will be the first for BC.
I trust they will figure it out by the start of the NHL season, though not really a biggie for me as I actually prefer going to the bars to catch what used to be PPV games for the atmosphere, drinks and female talent |

I've been noticing that my HD channels on my Shaw Box have been changed up. Global use to be on 199 and now its on 200 something. So i guess they are shuffling room for it.

Yeah they changed them around last week - so retarded. In case anyone was recording a series, you don't have to find it on the new channel, it automatically does it.

Shaw always shifts their channels around. I hope Sportsnet One makes it's way on Bell soon.
