I was at game 6 of the 94 Final, the Gold Medal Olympic game that just passed, and the game last night, and last night's victory was the most amazing of the three in terms of the excitement that took place when Burrows scored. Simply amazing.

Not only that, but Canada's Olympic team was kind of like a rented team. They were only together for a few weeks, we never really developed a deep relationship with them. Also, Team USA never really became the hated rival that Chicago is.

One of the most epic things of that run were Larry & Willy - they came out with some pure gold. They ran an "interview with Shane Churla" where he's whining and crying and sobbing about "I was just skating along and *sniff* and Pavel Bure *sob* came and... and he KNOCKED ME DOWN *bawl*" - oh man, priceless stuff.

I think it was after we lit up Calgary 5-0 in game 1 of the first round, Kerry Marshall did the ultimate straight-faced news report about "Tragedy in Calgary, where Mike Vernon, distraught over the loss and after a night of drinking, left the bar, and walked in front of a bus... AND IT WENT RIGHT THROUGH HIS LEGS".... ahahahahah, it's all in the delivery, of course, but those guys were in their prime that spring :D
