NEW YORK -- Vancouver Canucks left-winger Daniel Sedin will go for an unprecedented family double at the NHL awards banquet June 22.

He's up for the Hart Trophy along with right-winger Corey Perry of the Anaheim Ducks and Tampa Bay Lightning right-winger Martin St. Louis.

Sedin's twin brother and linemate Henrik Sedin won the MVP award last season. They could become the first brother tandem to win the Hart in consecutive years.

Daniel Sedin led the league with 104 points (41 goals, 63 assists) this season to help the Canucks finish first in the NHL's overall standings.

Perry scored 50 goals this season to help the Ducks to a fourth-place finish in the Western Conference.

St. Louis finished second in the league with 99 points (31-68) and helped the Lightning finish fifth in the East.

That's great timing.
Would suck if Burrows was at a game while the wife was giving birth.
Or if it happened during game day. Too distracting.

Durrann 04-28-2011 09:57 AM

It wasn't a smooth pregnancy, so he's had the distraction the last month or so. Pretty awesome he has been able to focus thus far.

Lol noob. GSP would rather stand than go to the ground with his opponent Jake Shields... he's not the guy you wanna be on the ground with.

And no ones asked you to pay $50, that's why you go a bar or something with a lot of TV's, watch Canucks and UFC... win/win.

...You can't?

Perry's the only 50 goal scorer and Rocket Richard winner. Most third period goals and tied for most game winners. Getzlaf got hurt remember, so he did this for quite a few games without him. The guy was absolutely clutch down the stretch for my boys... He put da team on his back.

Hart is given to the best player throughout the entire season. Not the last two weeks.

Hart trophy is for team MVP. Maybe you're thinking Lindsay? Took him more than two weeks to score all those goals too y'know. With the way their respective seasons went (team wise), no one was more valuable to their team than Perry

Don't get me wrong cause I think Perry was a phenomenal player for the Ducks and they wouldn't have made the playoffs if he wasn't scoring at an insane pace during the last few weeks.

You subtract Perry & Sedin from their teams and they wouldn't be where they are in the standings. I just think Daniel was much more consistent in his point production compared to Perry and should get the nod.

MR_BIGGS 04-28-2011 10:54 AM

The Bolts Caps series while on paper has the potential to be action packed great second round series..i can't help but think this is going to be the most boring round for this years playoffs.

Bolts were up 1-0 and started playing a shallow 1-3-1 last night which made for some god awful entertainment..and we all know how the caps have played this year...their series vs rangers wasn't exactly exiting...

Goals: Perry - 51 Daniel - 41

Out of those goals

PP Goals - Perry - 14 Daniel - 18
Game Winning Goals - Perry - 11 Daniel 10

The importance of those goals scored differential isn't that big of a deal. When it matters in the PP and game winning goals. Daniel is tops with Perry.
