ducks were 3 pts away from missing the playoffs. if the ducks finished 9th he would not even be considered a nominee.

The importance of those goals scored differential isn't that big of a deal. When it matters in the PP and game winning goals. Daniel is tops with Perry.

Daniel's game winning goals were the 2-0 kind when the Canucks went to win 4-1. Perry's were actual game winners.

PVR the fights and watch the game seems like the obvious decision (for those with PVR)

I believe consistency is going to be the deal breaker for who wins the Hart.

That is a good deal... too bad it's 4-5 months worth of gas for me :(

AzNightmare 04-28-2011 12:25 PM

damn... hockey games cost so much.
I can never think of paying so much for a hockey game...

I dunno, something about better view (camera following the action closely)
and commentary makes me enjoy watching on a tv screen more. Especially on a big HD TV.

And if Canucks get blasted 5-0... well, at least I know I didn't pay $600 for that.

My personal preference is TV > live, and that's not even based on the price of the tickets.
I guess I'm just not much of a "watch things live" kind of person.

Kinda in the same boat i guess, but I would've killed to watch game 7 in the last series.

you can get commentary at the game. They have in house announcers (team 1040) over a radio frequency+headset in the arena

I would have became medically deaf if I had gone. :)

what headsets? When did they start having this?
well, last time I went to a game was earlier this season,
in one of their exhibition games. Maybe not for preseason games?

I believe it's via FM radio.

I could've gone to game 7 but opted not to. Hindsight is 20/20, right? I really felt like I had to stay home and focus on the game. Watch every play, not listen to stupid comments around me. Cry alone if we lost or head downtown and celebrate when we won.

I asked earlier. It's 88.5. I'm going to bring my little FM reciever and earbuds with me for tonight's game.

BTW I have Game 2, 322, row 12, up for sale for $500/pr. Just beside centre ice. Greenstoner's price is pretty f'in cheap for lower bowl. I'd say buy all 4, sell the other 2 for $750 and watch the game for $250/pr.

EDIT: FM 88.5

The one thing you can't duplicate at the game live is the atmosphere - that's what you're paying for. Don't think I'd shell out much more than $100/ticket though (except I splurged for the Linden & Naslund retirement games). I'll go to 2-3 games a year, but playoff tickets are just too expensive for me.

My wife definitely prefers watching it on TV.

Fortunately, my dad has a 100" HD projector screen in his media room... :D

Dunno if this has been posted, but another interesting historical fact.

Quote:

The Canucks now have the opportunity to repeat an unusual bit of history. In defeating the Blackhawks, Vancouver became just the fourth team in NHL history to watch a 3-0 series lead disappear, but still win Game 7. The other three all happen to share one glaring bit of common fortune.

They all won the Stanley Cup.
