Not necessarily true. There have been multiple players who have been finalists for the Hart from teams that did not make the playoffs. Some of the more recent ones...

Alexander Ovechkin WSH 2005-2006
Jarome Iginla CGY 2001-2002
Mike Modano DAL 2001-2002
Paul Kariya ANA 1999-2000
Teemu Selanne ANA 1997-1998
Pavel Bure VAN 1997-1998

In fact, there has been at least one Hart winner from a non-playoff team... but you have to go a ways back for that one:

Mario Lemieux did it in 1987-1988.

I actually think Perry has a good chance of winning. Someone on CalgaryPuck brought out the fact that he plays a lot more minutes than Daniel, because he's also a vital part of their penalty kill.

I guess I'm just not much of a "watch things live" kind of person.

TV + Hughson FTW.

Kinda in the same boat i guess, but I would've killed to watch game 7 in the last series.

I was at game 7 with St. Louis a few years back... the noise in there was unbelievable.

Was probably 10-12 minutes to go, we had a solid lead, the place was SO loud... they announced that Colorado/Minnesota game 7 was going to OT... everyone was thinking, shit, we don't wanna play the Avs, we want the Wild!

So with a few minutes left, the noise was insane, a guy a couple rows behind us with his headphones on announced that Minnesota had just won... well the noise amped up for several seats around us... and then they flashed that up on the scoreboard and the place just went berserk. The noise level easily doubled, because everyone thought Minny would be a pushover...

Well, we all know what happened next *sigh*. But still, it was an incredible atmosphere, and I don't think I've ever actually been IN an all-encompassing, crushing SOUND like that before, or since.

imo the best atomsphere of any playoff games is either a game 7, or game 1 of the first round, been to a bunch of game 1's and i was at the calgary/van game 7 when calgary won, that was hands down loudest ive ever heard, and first time hugging random elderly asians

Roloson had 2 shutouts vs the caps this year...low scoring games can be exciting..but this series is not what the NHL wanted for US TV.

Awesome, can't wait to drive in traffic... looking at the cars (that have canuck flags) weave in and out of traffic with team 1040 blaring from their stereos.

The importance of those goals scored differential isn't that big of a deal. When it matters in the PP and game winning goals. Daniel is tops with Perry.

imo game winners are overrated, there is no discrimination on whether the game was tied up at the time when he scored or it was a 7-1 blow out and he just happened to have the second goal.

NO

Factor in how some of the preds stepped up against the ducks. Can't take anything away from what they did

If anything, some of those BC boys on the preds will play harder infront of their home town.

Plus, Jordan TooToo and Joel Ward have been pretty damn good. We all know the TooToo wreckin ball.

And of course Pekka Rinne, who has been OK, and Mr.Underwood
