The playoffs is like being transported to a different world. Sedin's approach to captaincy worked well during the regular season, but this is where the captaincy becomes most important. You need a guy who is going to bleed and work till every part of his being is spent. "He'll be there, he'll be there on crutches if he has to" ........ somewhere along those lines. Can't remember the exact words Jim Robson used. Kesler has stepped it up......... he's going to go super saiyan soon. It's not about IF the "C" on Kesler will make a difference with the Sedins. They are who they are. You can't get blood from a stone, unless you are a player like Burrows, Kesler, Torres, and a handful of other players. Sedin........... "We're going to approach this game like it is game 7"........ wow, that was inspiring. Oh, maybe that was the other twin who said that...... doesn't matter, they're the same person. I'm not really criticizing the twins. They are what they are. Great guys in the regular season. Not so great in the playoffs. This team, like a few hundred other teams, have a special bond. The Preds have a special bond. So did the Blackhawks. Something magical happens to some hockey teams when playoffs begin. Everything up to that point is wiped out - new slate. Some people say that the successful teams are peaking at the right time. It's more than that. The 'Nucks are up against some incredible teams. They need to become incredible, too. Game 5 was so important. The momentum is on the Preds side now. They believe they can pull it off, and with a goalie like Pecker Rinne, they can. If it comes back to Vancouver for game seven, it will be us facing elimination on everyone's mind. After game 5 loss, I have to admit, I have lost a bit of confidence in the team. It's their series to lose. Anyhow, there's not much anyone can do except cheer the team on. Cross fingers and hope for the best. |
argh come on detriot... |
the refs are a large part of the "different world" scenario too. can you imagine how many powerplays we would have if the games were called like they were during regular season? |
tie game...fuck ya |

Either way though, I don't see AV doing it, cause that would just be admitting to the opponent shit has hit the fan and we don't have confidence in our supposely best duo. |
Sedin's need some bounces to go their way, but they are god awful in the defensive end. WOW 3-3 game..what a game so far! |
holy Det laying down the pressure |
A team like Detroit has too much pride to just pack it in. An Original Six team with so much history. Years of dominance, not to mention good organization and coaching. Something Vancouver teams don't quite have yet - the history and even the pride. |
Red Wings putting it on |
HOLY SHIT DAT WITH THE MOVES |
4-3 Lidstrom WOW! It's surprising because Wings are so damn banged up. |
woooooo LIDSTROM!!!! great work by datsyuk |
Well at least their Swede Captain is still functioning... uh oh, sharks on PP! |
Sharks PP :fuuuuu: |
Damn Lidstrom's shot was deflected crazy! |
Sedins are barely useful in the playoffs? L-O-MFin-L Ok, they're not producing like in the regular season, I get it. But they're the SEDINS. They get the majority of the top defensive player's attention from every team and wear people down with their cycle with the best of them. If you know hockey, you know there is a lot more than the tangibles involved. Their efforts create opportunity for everyone else..... Posted via RS Mobile |
wtf @ that being icing |
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! |
I wonder if the Sharks fans are as critical with the game 5 loss to the Wings... Actually they probably are lol.. with the Sharks track record in the playoffs.. Same score too! and road team wins... hmmmm... As an objective fan watching the wings and sharks, we see this as a great game between 2 good teams.. |

I guess on the bright side, it means BEAST gets to play against 2nd and 3rd D pairings. |
