Let's all relax. Yes the Canucks played poorly the other day. However, we lost by one goal only and one of their goals was a huge fluke. We also played 2/3's of the game without one of our top 6 forwards (Sammy). The Sedins had a few defensive breakdowns but they had a few shifts where they dominated and pressured the Preds. Henrik also blew a great opportunity by passing instead of shooting when he was point blank (yet again). I'm confident we will win today.

TBH, that's what I can't figure out.

I honestly think the Canucks played the better game. You really can't tell by the score losing 4 - 3 but to me the game seemed tilted in our favour for the most part.

IMO, it we were really taking it to them, and for some reason, the odd times their in our end with momentum, they actually make it on the scoreboard.

Actually, that's how I find the last 5 games and I seriously don't know how they managed 2 games out of us.

...but ur right....its much better to put Rome in... cuz the best thing to do is to always chip the puck off the boards from our zone

I know this was a while ago but I didn't have time to comment on this. I do not think Rome is a better choice over Ballard. The person I was quoting was talking about grit, and Ballard does not have the size to deal with the predators so if you go rant about how the Canucks are soft and then you go ahead and put in Ballard who imo is softer than Rome, it kind of defeats the purpose. If you look at the chicago series there were times where Ballard was taken off the puck so easily by forwards which was probably why AV took him out in favor of Rome or Alberts.

Hip checks =/= grit; skating ability =/= grit; physicality = grit and Rome is a much better body checker (NOT HIP CHECK) than Ballard

The Preds = the Wild of years past. Goalie keeps them in the game, they don't create too many scoring chances but pounce on mistakes or get lucky goals.

And I think the Canucks are getting to Pekka Rinne, yes he made some good saves but I've noticed in the last few games that he's getting upset after giving up goals and he looks a bit shaky with his saves. They're not as clean as they were in the first few games. I also like the fact the Canucks are shooting from everywhere, I remember the TSN panel saying that the Ducks were able to get to Pekka because of lucky bounces, I think it's time tonight for the Canucks to get a lucky goal.

My prediction is 3-1 Canucks.

agreed the goal that we scored on our self or the other game they threw the puck and randomly it went off the skate was garbage.

The issue is that canucks are setting up perfect goals as well and doesnt seem to try and be more aggressive and attacking like other teams.

Lets hope we do better tonight and we don't have to go to game 7

JSS 05-09-2011 01:52 AM

rinne is the only reason the pesky preds are still in this... he does look frustrated everytime a puck gets passed him..... but hes got the confidence of knowing hes keeping his team in this series...

we need to come out firing, hitting, passing, shooting, scoring, getting in everyones face like we did in game 1 with the hawks.... i havent seen that killer instinct since round 1 game 1...

all the boys were playing like they had something to prove that game...

as soon as malhotra's injury was announced i knew losing him was gonna be a huge hit come the playoffs... he was a MONSTER with sj during last years playoffs... he would be huge right now.

all of our snipers have figured out we can beat rinne blocker side...

im no hockey coach... but id focus dumping the puck in on rinnes glove side (right wing)...
right wing and centre get in rinne's face.... left winger either shoots or gets the puck back to the D....

hes carrying the team... get in his face and expose his weak blocker. he will get frustrated.

Ballard is going to be forever-healthy-scratched until he gets traded or if we get more injured D.

I am just a bit nervous about tonight's game, Just having flashbacks of round 1 and 2003 vs the wild :(.

JDął 05-09-2011 09:58 AM

Question for you all:

Looking at buying tickets for a game off Craigslist - how can I tell if they are real tickets? Seller is apparently a season ticket holder and has hard copy tickets for Round 3 Game 1. Any help so I don't get ripped off would be appreciated :lol

AzNightmare 05-09-2011 09:59 AM

wtf was the point of picking up Ballard if he never plays??

Durrann 05-09-2011 10:08 AM

yeah ballard must've pissed off AV off ice or something LOL

not saying Edler's bad but
even he's made some costly mistakes for us..
yet hes still in the line up...
i dont get it wtf

Rome over ballard..wow

sonick 05-09-2011 10:16 AM

^ Apparently one time he hid in one of AV's cabinets in his office or something and scared the shit out of him.

Hard copy doesn't mean anything cause season ticket holders can say they lost their tickets, cancel them and get new ones re-issued. I learned the hard way. AFAIK there's no foolproof way of knowing they're legit unless you go to the box office with them or know their history. If these options are unavailable to you, go with your gut and check/write down ID.

Greenstoner 05-09-2011 11:30 AM

why would u even buy round 3 ticket now ?? how do u even get refund if they dont make it ?? lol

buy it if its a steal (20~40% off face value), otherwise you are just gambling with no profit
