Shark Club re-brands for playoffs Quote:
Shark Clubs across British Columbia have changed their name to “Vancouver Club” in support of the Vancouver Canucks as they battle out the San Jose Sharks in their quest for the Stanley Cup.
The official unveiling of the new name took place on Tuesday at the Shark Vancouver Club in Richmond.
The re-brand eliminates any doubts where the Shark Club loyalties lie and will remain for the duration of the playoffs.
“Fans have always enjoyed coming to eat at Shark’s Club, and now we are inviting them to come down and devour the Sharks, just like we know the Canucks will do”, said Jim Weidlinger, Director of Operations, Shark Vancouver Club.
Menu items such as the ‘Shark Burger’ and ‘Shark Bites’ allow fans to do just that.
The Vancouver Club encourages fans to watch the Canuck playoff games at one of their many B.C. locations. The (Shark) Vancouver Club currently holds the title as Sportsnet’s ‘Canada’s Best Sport Bar’.

anyone else listen to team1040 today? they said among the top 5 hitters in the post season this year, 4 of them are canucks:
1. Lapierre
2. Edler
3. Bieksa
4. Kesler
all are averaging 3.5hits per game.

Lapierre doesn't usually contribute offensively, but he has been a significant player in Vancouver's postseason run. He ranks second in the NHL with 52 hits in 14 playoff games. He also has a respectable 54.0% faceoff success rate in 139 attempts in the postseason

| Seriously? I've been to most of the shark clubs. They are pretty good/fun. Until I went to the Real Sports Bar and Grill in Toronto. That place is retarded...
The Real Sports bar has dining room seating behind all of that as well. Also, there are TV's all over that area too.
There is a middle VIP floor for the DJ and preferred seating also, can't find a pic of that though.

I believe Lappy's true beauty in his faceoff prowess is in the defensive zone, the same area where Manny was so highly relied upon last year. Lappy's won 11 of 19 defensive zone draws against the Preds and six of seven against Mike Fisher and David Legwand, Nashville's top two centres. I think that was where he shined the most. He's totally compensating the loss of Malhotra, although he hasnt been nor will be Malhotra.

The main problem that CoHo has is his skating, specifically his speed. His skating isn't simply good enough for the NHL. Either he needs another summer with Gary Roberts or a dedicated skating coach. He will never be as quick as Hansen, but considering the improvements that the Sedins have made in their skating over the years, he still has some room for improvement.

Guys who don't jump right into top form right away. Takes a few years to develop, then they become good. Rarely have we drafted a guy who became an instant force in the line up.
Kesler took a number of years to develop into the beast he is today. Hodgson will/might take another year or 2 in order to develop into his full potential.

But that's all waaaaayyyyy down the line. Game is at 6 tomorrow!! | Yeah totally agree. The top 3 centre positions are locked for the next couple of years. But thats pretty much what happened to Kesler during the first few years of his career. Morrison and Henrik had 1 and 2.
I know centre is Coho's natural position. But maybe AV will put Coho on Manny's RW so Manny can mentor Coho then.
People speculated that Manny won't be back until a full calendar year, if that's the case then the 3rd line centre will be vacant for at least the beginning of the season. Depending if we re-sign Lapierre.
But as of today, seeing some of the vids/news of Manny skating and taking some practices...who knows...
Still have Schroeder in the books too, dunno how long it will take him to develop and rip it up in the league.

But that's all waaaaayyyyy down the line. Game is at 6 tomorrow!! | Kid is still young. I think Hank and Kes retire as Canucks and Manny is...what...32? He might stick around even after his 3 year contract is up in the event that his eye injury doesn't force him to retire early.
That means either Hodgson moves to the wing until Manny retires and Hodgson is about 26-27 to move to center or we just trade the guy. I'm thinking trade is the best way to go...might net us a 2nd line shooter, a prospect and a decent draft pick if someone is convinced Hodgson is the real deal.
The Canucks are not only the deepest team in the league but they have two or three of the best trade chips in the league as well in Hodgson, Schnoo and one of Schroeder/Lack/Tanev.
Some people say that the Canucks will never have a lineup as good as this again but I think in the next year or two, we might see an even better one if we manage to hang onto Bieksa and Ehrhoff and make a Schneider trade.
