Assuming the cap goes up next year to $62m (just going by trends), you can sign everyone to the following salaries
$62 - $45.7 = $16.3
Ehrhoff $5m
Bieksa $4.25
Torres $1.6
Higgins $1.6
Lapierre $1.25
Hansen $1.25
Glass $800k
However, that would leave just about 500k under the cap and zero room for any extra players on the roster. Say bye to Salo and Alberts and Rome would be the sixth D man.
This is all assuming that Ballard stays in Vancouver next year and is not traded. If he is traded, then that definitely leaves enough room under the cap to carry Hodgson, Oreo, etc in the press room and Ballard's $4.2m could be used to sign Salo who could probably be convinced to take less money to finish his career here AND have Tanev on the roster as the seventh D man.
The absolute best case scenario is if we can trade Ballard and keep both Ehrhoff and Bieksa but it can be done even if we keep Ballard...even though that'll be an extremely thin margin and probably not something Gillis wants to do because we all saw what cap problems can do to rosters like this season in NJ and a couple seasons ago in Calgary. He would probably rather lose one of Ehrhoff or Bieksa than put the Canucks in that scenario.
That also assumes all these guys will take modest raises. I actually think Torres and Hansen are worth more than that. Lapierre too. However, we can probably take advantage of the fact that Hansen, Lapierre and Oreo are all RFA instead of UFA. They might be due huge raises later but we might be able to lowball them another year.
And all bets are off if we win the Cup...people might demand something outrageous after that.
