wow, that was a creative powerplay by tampa. no goal, but a huge amount of sustained pressure.

MR_BIGGS 05-23-2011 04:41 PM

With Mike Smith starting this game - totally screws up Boston's gameplan.

They can no longer chip it in and forecheck....Smith is playing the puck.

Nothing changes, you are always under contract with the same team. In fact, i swear there was a case when 2 teams shared a farm team.

This brings up another noob question...

does AHL have salary caps too? if so...then what if some NHL team keeps putting players in the farm team and max the salary cap? Or like cliffhanger's case - 2 nhl teams share one farm team?

I remember it was a ten million dollar salary cap, correct me if I'm wrong.
And honestly, the best players in AHL, rarely, and I'm pretty dam sure, NONE, make the max salary due to some law set by the NHL. Except for the goaltender, Denis.

woob 05-23-2011 05:19 PM

ooh Smith didn't come across nearly fast enough across the crease. Delayed reaction to the shot too. That said, good shot by Horton. Florida never should have let him go.

NHL11 simulation = Vancouver vs Boston in the finals. Could very well happen.

The cap is reported to be going to $62.2 next year, apparently.

The hilarious part is Philadelphia is almost already at that number. They have $59m committed to payroll and still have three forward and a D spot to fill on the roster. They'll have to dump salary and are looking for goaltending.

Schneider for Giroux? :troll:
