haha i have the exact same beef about how he says that. It doesn't sound exciting enough and you already know they scored from the cheers of the crowd even before he says "scores"

trancehead 09-12-2010 05:44 PM

I look forward to Vancouver beating Edmonton all season long.

+1 Anytime there is action around the net, I couldn't tell if there was a goal or a save until at least a minute later when he catches his breath.

We look at Luongo's struggles over the last two seasons and take it easy on him because of personal issues. What about McLean? Can you imagine seeing your teammate, who was banging your wife, every day? The fact that he was able to elevate his game during this was all the more remarkable.

you can't retire somebody's jersey if they're still playing though. i really hope that they retire ohlund's number as well. he was my favorite canuck

anybody watch the whole game? i caught the last period. from what i saw, connauton was decent, schroeder looked good, and sweatt was fasttttt. as for edmonton... taylor hall who? MPS was easily the best player for both teams today.

enjoy it while it lasts. they may have trouble attracting big name free agents now, but if global warming ever makes Edmonton more hospitable and thus a more desirable destination, watch out!

taking a stab at Edmonton, implying it is a frozen hellhole with an inability to keep or attract major talent, requirng global warming to make it a more hospitable and attractive destination means I am on drugs?

Magnus dropped the S for the NHL, so he's just MP now.

Well Lu has announced he's officially giving up the C.

My vote is for Kesler to be captain

Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that goaltender Roberto Luongo has decided he will relinquish his role as team captain. Luongo’s leadership remains important to the club’s continued success and he will continue to support teammates with his work ethic, discipline and desire to win.

“Roberto has been an excellent captain for our team the past two seasons,” said Mike Gillis. “We respect and support his decision to relinquish the captaincy and are confident that he will continue to help lead our team through his tremendous character and work ethic both on and off of the ice.”

“I am honoured to have served as captain of the Vancouver Canucks for the past two seasons,” said Roberto Luongo. “Being captain in a Canadian city for a team with such passionate fans is a privilege and an experience I will always take pride in. I will continue to be a leader on this team and support my teammates the same way I always have while focusing on our ultimate goal.”

Same thing in NHL10. I think it was Mitchell or Kesler that wore the C

I'm going to assume that Kesler is likely the front runner for the C right now. There's a reason why they went on that social media frenzy and created a Facebook and Twitter account for him.

I already have his jersey so I'm all good. I'll just go get a C sewn on if he's announced as C

Or they might run with the Hart winner, 'fan favorite' path with the C.

gars 09-13-2010 10:17 AM

but I think Kesler is more of a fan favorite than Henrik...
