alot of his saves are flailing his arms up in the air.

if we get an open side of the net, keep it on the ice, and keep it quick.

First off, Tim Thomas overrated?! Yeah I forgot they give out Vezina trophies for hype. Second, the reason a lot of those saves are "flailing his arms up in the air" are because he was already in position to make the initial save, and those are pure reaction saves for the rebound/second shot. There's a reason why a majority of those are top 10, for having such reaction time and agility/athleticism. You'll also notice that some of those shots *were* at an open side of the net and on the ice too...

darkfroggy 05-26-2011 01:42 AM

Tim Thomas a bad goalie?

WTF?

Tim Budong 05-26-2011 02:13 AM

Tim Thomas. is so positionally sound its fucking scary. sadly, the guy never gets enough credit for that, and his flailing his arms up in the air is what he's known for.

regardless, i still think he's a flopper. overrated, after seeing him this season, i eat my words

Ronin 05-26-2011 03:55 AM

Tim Thomas is positionally sound but more than anything, he just simply doesn't give up. Until the puck is in the net, it's never over. I can't explain some of those awesome highlight reel saves other than he simply wants it more.

scottsman 05-26-2011 04:28 AM

From the Clips he may have sounds positioning for the first shot but if he has to flop around for the second then his rebound control is poor.

when the tickets go on sale is it going to be for all the games? (1,2,5,7) or will it be for sale on different days?

http://www.nbc.com/schedule/

NBC has Wednesday 8pm EST listed for game 1/2 on their schedule already. So looks like game 1 will be Wed June 1 at 5pm PST meaning the Supertramp concert will be cancelled, still hearing they working on getting Bruno Mars cancelled too.

Soundy 05-26-2011 06:43 AM

Ferraro is speculating game 2 would be on Saturday...

Does this pic remind anyone of the famous photo of "the best game ever played at pacific coliseum" from 1994 (game 6 vs the rangers). The confetti looks alot like the fireworks in that photo, as well as the general crowd rowdiness. I cant find it online but theyre very similar, IMO, like a modern day version.
EDIT: heres a still I cropped from the video. Not the exact pic but you get the idea.

I don't know if it's this or not but man I had trouble sleeping last night and only got about 4-5, which is weird considering I got about 5 hours after tuesdays game so I should've been zonked  lol

6pm PST start doesn't make sense for NBC's prime time schedule.

Soundy 05-26-2011 08:17 AM

RT @TEAM1040: Via @mattsekeres: Stanley Cup final schedule. Wed/Sat start in Vancouver. http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/38852013/ns/sports-nhl/

Edit: damn, that'll teach me to refresh before posting.

sonick 05-26-2011 08:20 AM

Pretty shitty only one rest day between Game 2 and 3, if it's in Tampa that's a hell of a travel day.

Ch28 05-26-2011 08:30 AM

Fucking 5pm start times

How the hell can they expect people to actually work and get off enough in time for the games?

FUCK YOU NBC AND FUCK YOU BETTMAN

YEAH, I'M MAD

As shitty as it is, it benefits the Canucks since they're more used to longer travel.

Just what I was gonna say. Tampa won't be as used to changing timezones and widely varying start times.
