I'll be in class from 1-730, and there's a 30min travel back home.

I would SO skip class for this once in a lifetime opportunity!

While on the topic of tickets being expensive...

From http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/britis...r-rennie.html:

Quote:

A Vancouver Island steelworker who won a Lotto Max jackpot of nearly $36 million flew into Vancouver Tuesday to pick up his winnings — and go to the Canucks game.

David Rennie, 48, and his family chartered a helicopter from their home in Campbell River.

"Friends of ours had some [Canucks] tickets here [in Vancouver]" Rennie said after picking up his $35.7-million cheque.

He said he told his wife to call their friends and get the tickets.

"She said it was going to be pretty expensive, and we're like, 'Yeah, so? It doesn't matter!'"

Rennie took his Lotto Max ticket to a Campbell River gas station Friday night to check if it was a winner.

Rennie described the moment, which was captured by a closed-circuit security camera.

"All of a sudden I look at it. Says, 'Winner,' and shows this total here and I just lost it," he said. "I put my head down, lot of jumping up and down, lot of hooting and hollering. Pretty weird, yeah."

Gas station clerk Glenn Moon had the scanned winning ticket.

"They had to take him to the back so he could sit down because he was in a state of shock," said Moon.

Rennie said he plans to buy horses for his wife, a BMW for his son, and take in every major sporting event he can.

"Go to the World Series, stuff like that," he said. "Super Bowl. Stanley Cup finals — here in Vancouver."

He said he still has to take care of one other piece of unfinished business. He has to call his boss.

What will Rennie have to say?

"I quit," he said.
Dude took a helicopter to get down to Vancouver to watch Game 5 of the WCF. Looks like he's attending whatever game(s) he wants for the SCF too. The article about this in yesterday's 24 said he'd go to Boston or Tampa Bay too.

But he'd better be careful - seems like one of those idiots that blows all of their winnings in a short amount of time.

Hopefully your hookups will pull through for you, but you do realize ticketmaster prices aren't going to be far off from the $600 above right?

Make a post on craigslist. Will DO "favours" for a ticket haha.

Re: ticket prices. Can't stand those who are whining about the unaffordable tickets. The Canucks can afford to spend to the cap every year b/c of these high ticket prices. IF you want a decent on-ice product and pay next to nothing, fly to Tampa.

It'll be cheaper to fly to Tampa for 2 games and back then it is to watch a game here :lol

I have no issues with the ticket prices, its pretty much what the market is willing to pay.

I've long been a Ballard Fan/Rome Hater, but I gotta be honest, Ballard played pretty bad in game 5.

I think what the cartoon is saying is that Bettman did not want to compete with the NBA Finals. The schedule was pretty much created to avoid it going against the NBA. There are no games on the same day as the NBA Finals. NHL gets only 1 weekend game lol!

Tanev gets the job done, but not really an upgrade over Rome though.

I would really like to know what classes you have that are four hours and nine hours respectively that you are NOT willing to skip?
I have friends who are in med school, dentistry, chiro, physio, all grad school programs and don't give a fuck about school when it's game time.

If you had an exam the next day, ok that is a more legit excuse. But, if it's just a class? Come on.

Perfect, enough time to leave and come back. :fullofwin:

Any insight on why Game 3 tix are so much more than Game 1? Is it just cause the chance that it's a series ending game?
