Lucky you. I wanted to play organised hockey but my parents didn't think it was important enough.

Good stuff. My parents used to be big hockey fans when I was younger. They still watch hockey every now and then
lol, if my kids in the future wanted to play organized hockey, I would be sad.
Sure it's an awesome game and it's fun for them, but not fun for me with their equipment and team fees. =(

in a way that's being selfish cause it will "cost" to much. If you have kids you have to plan for things like that. It's way better then them sitting in front of a comptuer all day and it will teach them valiable team skills.
I played for 16yrs played rep A and Jr A and it did cost my parents a ton of cash but they enjoyed watching me succeed and have fun which made it all worth while for them.

your kids gonna have an aznightmare
it'd be great if your kids take an interest in something that you both think is awesome. what else would you rather take your kids to?
I don't know whether to fail you or thank you for this.

^That is very true... lol
Well I mean IF I actually had a choice and they decided to like hockey or another sport, I might be a bit
more happier if they chose something else, but if they ended up liking hockey, just like myself, in no way
would I brainwash them to not like it nor would I take that enjoyment away by not letting them play or something.
First thing is watching my kids have fun.
Second thing is deep down, hoping what makes my kids have fun doesn't cost a ton. lol
Either way, I'll pay up, because I'll love my kids.
Haha I grew up playing soccer. Not so much hockey. I played street hockey here and there in the past.
I grew up watching hockey though, and didn't play ice until I was old enough to afford gear on my own.

Earlier this year, Rogers cut a deal to show 13 regular-season Vancouver Canucks games and two pre-season games on Sportsnet One. The pre-season games are Sept. 22 against the Edmonton Oilers and Sept. 28 against Calgary. Injured Canucks forward Alex Burrows will be the colour man for the Oilers game.

Guess what...hobbies are expensive. Regardless of what your kids will get into, it'll be expensive unless they're into, I don't know...playing with dirt.
he's going to do 3 games, or so they said on the radio this morning
Could make for an interesting drinking game. Drink every time his voice cracks... mind you it improved a lot last year compared to the years prior. Would still be fun.

I'd be more then willing to pay those fees. Nothing is more satisfying then seeing your kid do something they love and are extremely passionate about. It'll keep them in shape and keep them out of trouble.
As much as I hate defending Luongo, I hope you realize all goalies fake injuries to rest in every league including peewee players.
^ lol it's true.
When a goalie gets knocked down and plays not dead, watch how quick they can get up.

Well same here. I know all hobbies are expensive. I'm just simply saying I can name a handful of sports much cheaper than hockey.
But I'm not gonna tell my kids to like a specific sport just because one costs less. I'll let them find out what they want to do and
be there to support.
