Best bet is to call ticketmaster to confirm

AFAIK the Best Buy Club is in the 500 sections which is like above upper bowl. It's pretty high up there and the players look like ants. I believe you're pretty much parallel to the top of the jumbotron

worst seats are row 1, where u cant see shit!

Hondaracer 09-16-2010 06:36 PM

Row 1 is better than the 500 level, half way up the upper bowl is too far away for me lol

hmm so they are considering bringing back bmo for another center cause welly most likely wont be back?

Hondaracer 09-16-2010 07:39 PM

welly is done son

b0unce. [?] 09-16-2010 07:45 PM

can we 'write off' hodgson? or does he legitimately still have a shot at making the team this season?

dbaz 09-16-2010 07:56 PM

I didnt think he had a legitimate shot at all but because of injuries and unless a tryout makes the team one of hodgson/schroeder/shirokov should be playing wing on the second line to start the season while samuelson takes burrows spot

trancehead 09-16-2010 08:15 PM

Watching those prospect games, Prab Rai is pretty quick.

Prab Rai and Manny Maholtra would make an unholy duo on the third line

pastarocket 09-16-2010 08:58 PM

Brendan Morrison, the one third of the West Coast Express back in the day, is heading to Canucks main camp as a tryout. Is he for real?

The TSN scribes get his age wrong on their site article. He's described as a 25 year old center. The guy's 34 years old!!

What do you think of B-Mo trying out for the team?

Hondaracer 09-16-2010 09:05 PM

id rather a young kid learn on the 4th line than have a charity case B-mo there.

Tim Budong 09-16-2010 09:29 PM

Dont get me wrong, B-Mo is great. The guy can still play hockey, and its smart hockey. He would definitely bring more edge to the PK. Him being on the 3rd/4th line would boost our depth wayy more.

Cody Hodgson and Jordan Schroder have ALOT to prove if they want to crack this lineup. keep in mind, good teams are patient with their prospects. Aside from the examples in Detroit, the Ducks handled Getzlaf and Perry pretty well. They didn't crack the ducks line up until they were 22? It all about grooming prospects.

Giving the young kids a shot is worth every second of their time. Having a guy like Bmo come in to compete with them gives them every bit of reason to work harder. Peter Schafer wont make this team, but BMO has a very legitamate shot at cracking the canucks

Gumby 09-16-2010 11:05 PM

I find it kinda sad how apart from the elite getting the big bucks and the blue chip prospects getting generous contracts, the experienced, but older guys (such as Morrison, Schaefer, etc.) are looking for jobs.

b0unce. [?] 09-16-2010 11:50 PM

i guess most teams dont really want anyone over 32ish unless they are a proven solid vet.
they want the younger kids with more jump and energy. but i mean there are pros and cons both ways. experience and leadership are just as valuable.

they were both young once and pushing the older guys out too.

there's only so many jobs and new players come in every year.

Situations have changed since these players were young but its basically true. The nhl has changed younger players are in higher demand because of 2 main reasons lower cap hits, 2 way eligibility and in lesser turns better possible outcomes. You look at the teams that go after ufas and after they sign 2 players because of inflation of peoples contracts your looking at around 10million for those 2 players who may not even be top of the line talent. Thats around 1/5, 1/6 of your cap, teams cant be willing to pay a proven vet 1m+ when 2 spots could be taken with young cheap players. This is one of the downsides with the salary cap, people being forced out of the league earlier than they should. Previously younger players would spend a couple years in the ahl except crosby/ov type players. Young players are are now rushed straight up to create additional cap room this is a common occurance in probably all the teams except detroit and possibly van this year because of decent contracts.

Getzlaf broke into the Ducks roster when he was 20. Same age as Cody. If Cody wasn't hurt last year, i'm pretty sure he would have cracked the roster. B-Mo isn't exactly your prototypical 4th line center but looking at teams like Philly rolling 4 scoring lines with a mix of grinders on each line the 4th line in the NHL doesn't have to be typical. If he does make the team he better not make over 800k if he does, Gillis better send Hordichuk to Manitoba.

Row 1 has its perks. One of my favorite hockey memories is being in row 1 in a series against the Wings. I had my hands up on the boards, and the next thing I know, Bertuzzi CRUSHED Chelios right in front of me. The boards moved what seemed like a foot, and it was fucking awesome :D

I'm down if BMo signs for league minimum or close to and doesn't pull a Mathieu Schneider on us when AV decides to give him Hordichuk ice time.

Hondaracer 09-17-2010 06:53 AM

Row one is a cool experiance from time to time, wouldn't want it as my seasons though unless it was on a corner

Don't know if it's been discussed but Gionta is Canadiens' new captain.

Ch28 09-17-2010 07:25 AM

Pat Burns passed away this morning.
