tbh i think oreskovich isn't that bad. he can skate/hit pretty well. for a 4th line grinder/energy player, he makes use of his 8 or so minutes of ice time he gets. you could argue that he isnt producing, but hey, neither is mason raymond.

So far EA's SIM program is looking dead on!

Ronin 06-08-2011 11:22 PM

It's not the loss. It's the way they lost. If they clawed and worked and lost by a goal or two, sure...but they looked slow, tired and injured in their losses while the Bruins were still in the games they lost.

The Canucks need to get back to playing their game. Use their skill, burn teams on the PP, pass around hard forechecks, etc. Right now they're being sucked into the Bruins game and it's getting in their heads like Chicago was in their heads.

Look at Thomas' mental toughness. He got burned in both games 1 and 2 in brief moments after being incredible for most of the game. If he broke down mentally, everyone would know why but no, he bounces back and stops everything except one puck in two games at home.

If the Canucks don't lose at home, they aren't in trouble but boy, they looked terrible these two games...just tired and slow.

Yup definately getting dragged into Boston's game - totally agree with Ronin.

We need to stay mentally tough and play Canucks hockey.

Think of it as a new, 3 game series and start fresh. You know how we like to show up for Game 1's.

Game 7 OT3 Malhotra Game Winning Goal

Game 7 OT3 Luongo Game Winning Goal

Harvey Specter 06-08-2011 11:52 PM

I think only 4 teams have won the cup when down 2-0. We'll pull out a win Friday, after that it's tough to call. I think it might go 7 games because it seems like the Canucks can't win in Boston.

We clearly see Burrows doing that once in this video, knocking the stick out of Thomas' hand. Burrows initiated it. It's a 4-0 game, and Thomas basically said, "fuck this!" and sent a message.

I actually like this kind of attitude. If it was Luongo, playing his calm and collected style, he'll just stand around and talk about not being distracted, staying focus, while letting everyone take runs at him. Just how many times did you wish Luongo would have fucked up Byfuglien or any other blackhawk that was constantly harrassing him in the previous years, but it just never happened.

honestly though, its fair game for thomas. i think we're making his job too easy most of the time. he's getting away with a lot of shit cause we are letting him. i think the second he steps onto white ice, rough him up a bit. he knows he's in his safety zone as long as he's touching blue paint.

We definitely are. I don't know if penalties will be called or not if Canucks run into Thomas if he's outside of the blue. There's the controversy of that situation, and the league knows how Thomas' plays. Perhaps the refs might just put their whistles away if Thomas gets run over if he's outside of the blue paint. It's hard to experiment that now, cause the next 3 games are way too important. Canucks should have sent the message last game or today.
Not enough crashing when he's outside his crease.

Today's effort was so piss poor, I can't even recall did Thomas have to make a second effort on a rebound save tonight.

shawn79 06-09-2011 12:05 AM

better not go to game 7 i got a midterm 830am in the morning

mb_ 06-09-2011 12:13 AM

Man oh man, Friday can't come fast enough.

Tomorrow is gonna be an annoying day though. Some hater bitch sits behind me in one of my classes and she never keeps her mouth shut when we lose.

Agree on the slow and tired part. Not to mention it seems like they have no energy left or even the moviation to play. Not to mention at times they just seem to be day dreaming and when the pressure comes they panic. Even he Giants play better I must say.

RS meet at YVR?? :fullofwin:

n3wb 06-09-2011 12:32 AM

I'm going to go right ahead and say it:

Dan Hamhuis will go down as the best defenseman to ever wear a Canuck jersey.

Though I have complete faith in the Canucks to get their shit together, I don't think people realize exactly how much Hamhuis means to this team...

Ronin 06-09-2011 12:38 AM

Hammer isn't coming back. He was sitting on the bench in a suit...not even warmups. He's probably done.

We need Ballard to step the fuck up. He's probably totally healthy. Cry all you want about AV and whatever but he's getting paid $4.2 million, he should play like he's at least going to earn half of it.

Edler and Ehrhoff look off too. Edler has looked tired since early in the SJ series and Ehrhoff is making mistakes. Without Hammer to play steady defense, we need Ballard or Salo to step up into that shutdown role with Juice.

the way the bruins pressure that point and transition so well on their PK, tough to see a big blast from the point.

As per Berzerker's post a couple pages.

Ok Guys not sure if you all already know this as I am not going to go back page by page to check so if it's already public then my apologies but if not.... here's the inside scoop on Hammerhouse.

As some of you know I live in Smithers now and the town is all about the Hamhuis love. I watched the game at his Aunts house tonight and was told that he will be needing Surgery on his Groin and will not be making a return to the playoffs.

Again I don't know if this is made public yet but as a loyal RS member I couldn't have knowledge like that and NOT share it with the rest of you.

Get well soon Danny the Nucks wouldn't be where they are without you.

Berz out.
