Man, I can't stop thinking about the Canucks. I am so excited for Monday's game...

Just messaged my prof to cancel class since I have a midterm that day.. but she replied with "I can't cancel class but you can come write the exam after the game, I will stay for the people who don't want to miss the game"

Now to find the fastest way to get through Vancouver Downtown traffic to UBC :D

I made a bet with one of my buddies that when we win the cup we are going to get a Canucks tattoo. I decided today about getting the Johnny Canuck V shoulder patch the same size and place it would be with your jersey on. And of course with some nice writing saying 2010-2011 Stanley Cup Champions!!

LOL, I just think getting a canucks tattoo is gay....

n3wb 06-12-2011 12:03 AM

Anyway.........

ESPN's poll shows that:
24% of the world thinks Canucks are going to win in 6.
34% of the world thinks Canucks are going to win in 7
42% of the world thinks Bruins are going to win in 7.

Hmmm...At least 58% of the world thinks we will win....

When are you leaving for Boston?

Harvey Specter 06-12-2011 01:40 AM

I just want to see the faces of the Boston fans when the Canucks hoist the cup. I hate every sports team associated with Boston.

Where u staying in boston?

Harvey Specter 06-12-2011 02:12 AM

My friend and I were thinking about catching a flight out of Seattle at 11am arrival tonight at 9:30pm, the total cost for one plane tix was $700 but finding decent tickets for the game were the issue. Upper bowl tickets were going for $500 each, lower bowl is out of the question....one ticket we got quoted for was $4500.

I'm interested in seeing the faces of the fans in Rogers Arena that cheered when Luongo got pulled in game 4. :troll:

I'm still a bit shocked, but not necessarily surprised, in his interview where he basically
said "fuck the fans, I'm only playing for my teammates, my family, and friends."

Sure, he shits the bed every now and then, but overall, he's been the best goalie Vancouver has ever had,
and he still never gets the respect he deserves from even his own fans in Vancouver.

I have a feeling even when Canucks win the cup, there's going to be a "BUT".
"BUT, he self-destructed in 4 games in the cup run. BUT, he played for the best team in the league. He'll never be an elite goaltender."

Hondaracer 06-12-2011 02:14 AM

glad i went to game 2, figured that was now or never because when it got to this point it would be priced out of my budget

got a bunch of pictures of me on tv too with the Burrows OT goal from buddies who saved the game on the PVR

Well I'm not going to completely diss the fans who were cheering when Lu was pulled. I mean he did give up 12 goals in 2 games in the Stanley Cup finals and it look like the team was doomed. As much as I disagree with fans cheering so loudly on national TV, I can also understand that the fans were pissed and let their emotions out by cheering when Lu was pulled.

And I bet the same thing would happen in Boston, Montreal, Toronto, or any other real hockey market if their goalie let in 12 goals in the cup final. Shit, Montreal fans jeered and booed Price for the first few home games this season so it's not that big of a deal. Maybe the video of the fans cheering pissed off Lu and the result was a shutout in game 5?

Hondaracer 06-12-2011 02:29 AM

My problem with cheering against Lu:

It's always been Bandwagoners and the ignorant who have blamed the losses on Lu, yes in Chicago he did have problems with the likes of Kane, Toews, etc. but he grew and overcame the challenge much like in the Olympics

in the 8 goal game realistically only the first 3 goals meant anything, after that they were irrelevant but of course it's all hung on him

Lu gonna come out and kill it on monday, Nucks get an early one and we've got it.

Osaka 06-12-2011 02:35 AM

Heard on 1040 that the fans may have been cheering around the time Lu was getting off the ice because they saw themselves on the jumbotron. Just like the crowds cheer outside on Georgia when they see themselves on the big screen...
