No, they were cheering cuz he got pulled. Not everyone was, but it only takes a third to make a lot of noise.

My 2011 Stanley Cup Predictions

June 8, 2011

I normally don’t get too involved with the NHL or any kind of major league sport but I will offer my two cents on the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals. You won’t see me offer my pessimistic opinion very often but if Hongers and Mainlanders are allowed to wear Canucks Jersey’s during the playoffs, I feel entitled to voice my opinion.

Growing up as an avid Canucks hockey fan at a young age, I followed the Vancouver Canucks through heaven and hell. Up until 1994, all my hopes and dreams of a Vancouver Canucks Stanley Cup were quashed by the New York Rangers. The Canucks franchise has not reached the finals until this year. They’ve come a long way and have some excellent players over the past few years with an excellent coach but one thing I can never let go was 1994.

I’m just going to be myself and say it straight up - they’re not going to win it. Forever they will live up to the Vancouver curse and choke at the very last minute. This week’s Game 3 and 4 were obvious indicators something is clearly wrong. When something doesn’t work their way, the team falls apart, much like a spoiled single child whose parents’ failed to buy their beloved son a BMW M6 for the sake of not achieving 99.5% on his math exam. Let’s not forget - the NHL is a business. With goons like Gary Bettman running the show, who knows what goes on behind the scenes.

I still remember the painful loss suffered by the Canucks in 94. The last minute goal by the Rangers. The cheers and screams. The riot downtown. These memories are still vivid and so surreal. For the strangest reason I cannot explain this but I have a feeling we’ll encounter a 1994 deju vu in this year’s Stanley Cup finals.

My pessimistic prediction: Boston takes the cup in Game 7, with a final score of 3-2 in the third period with 3:26 left in the game.

If I’m wrong, I’m wrong. I’ve said my piece and even if the Canucks win the cup, they won’t win my fan loyalty. That was lost in 94 already.

Oh, and to all you bandwagoners and Hongers - go eat a bucket of sand. Most of you don’t even know what hockey is, let alone how hold a stick.

Comments? Offended?
Go Bruins, Go!

It's always been Bandwagoners and the ignorant who have blamed the losses on Lu, yes in Chicago he did have problems with the likes of Kane, Toews, etc. but he grew and overcame the challenge much like in the Olympics

in the 8 goal game realistically only the first 3 goals meant anything, after that they were irrelevant but of course it's all hung on him

Lu gonna come out and kill it on monday, Nucks get an early one and we've got it.

We also scored 1 goal in two games, not going to win to many like that even if he plays like Roy in his prime. Some of the fans here need to take a chill pill he helped us get here through the regular season and through the playoffs. Win or lose the cup he has played well.

I wish it was the flames that made it into the finals because you know you'd see the girls running around stark naked by now.

ya pretty obvious lol if he's somehow not playing tomorrow then i'm gonna go ape shit

but he did say he'll play on one leg if he has to so the chance of him missing game 6 is less than 1%

I love the SCF. It brings out so much emotion. The intensity level of this series is so high. Two teams going at it tooth and nail. Would any true hockey fan have it any other way? Having said that, I'm totally prepared for a Vancouver loss. After '94, I've seen a lot of good fans give up, because it was too much for them to take. Like christians hoping for jesus to come back, I hope that in my lifetime, the Canucks will bring home the cup. This was an awesome season for the Canucks. Look at how much they have accomplished.

The Stanley Cup would be an awesome way to cap off such an incredible season. Thing is, the other team and fans want it just as much as we do. I like our chances. I dearly hope the fans DT don't behave like a bunch of orangutans. It's only going to prove to outsiders that the fans in Lotusland don't deserve to see their team hoist the cup.

The team we cheer for is going to try their hardest. No doubt about that. Each and every one of them knows what it takes to win it all. I will cheer them on with every fiber of my being, and if they win, I will cherish the moment. If they lose, I will share in their loss. No blame, no pointing of fingers, because that's what fans are supposed to do. Sure, I blamed so and so, and so and so for the two losses in Boston, but it was out of total frustration and disappointment. When it comes down to the deciding game, win or lose, I am still proud to be a Cancucks fan of 42 years. From the WHL days to today and beyond. Go, Canucks, GO!!!!

Monday's game? I am going to block everything out. Soak in every moment, 'cause if the Canucks win, we won't see good hockey again for months.

We also don't know if it was just cheering to support Schneider.

You can definitely tell Lou was a little pissed that practically the whole province turned against him so quickly. He slammed his stick pretty hard on the ice before giving it away.

That girl looks like a certain youtube "singer" that haunted my ears for weeks. No thanks.

All the pressure is on Boston. Canucks are so close to the prize they can touch it. They'll do anything to end it, so I think they'll be on their game, energized and super sharp. All bets are off for tomorrow's game.
