Anyways, my thoughts from the game.

I thought that Morrison looked really solid out there, both offensively and defensively. Though he didn't score he generated chances and made good plays.

Schaeffar was pretty invisible, missed a wide open net once.

The Sweatt brothers were both really good imo, and Lee held his own for being so small.

Bieksa and Oberg were both pretty bad, made defensive errors and couldn't seem to make the right plays. Bieka did have one pretty good power play near the end of the game though.

Tanev was solid, nothing fancy or anything, just a good, smart d-man.

Connauton was definitely the best d-man out there tonight in my books. He didn't make many defensive errors and made good passes as well as produced many scoring chances.

Torres and Malholtra were both good, pretty much what we expect from them.

Desbiens and Oreskovich both threw a lot of good hits out there. There is definitely some competition for those 4th line spots!

Shirokov was okay, nothing special and I was expecting a lot more out of him. Had some decent scoring chances but couldn't finish.

Schneider made some unbelievable saves and played really really well. Shantz on the other hand was absolutely horrible, even if he did come in cold.

May have forgotten some things, I'll post later if I did!

very solid game...loses don't mean anything to me during the preseason...i can see a double trophy for us...nhl and ahl!

Anyone else at the game tonight notice they changed our goal song? Hopefully they jump back to playing Greenday when regular season starts because this new song just isn't cutting it.

Do they usually have two games from the same teams on the same night?
I don't ever recall this happening before... I was so confused.

i was at the game tonight, and the caliber of play was a bit weak on both sides.

The first two shots Shantz took in the third period went in, and that didnt help the vibe in the arena.

I didnt know how short benched we would be with Regular roster players so it was a weird game for me to watch.

I hate losing to the Flames even though they it's preseason and maybe mentioned already, it was the first lost in pre-season regulation for the Canucks since 2007.

Schneider made some good saves in the first period though.
But yeah, during the middle, I kinda grew tired,
and was starting to almost fall asleep in the third until Torres scored. lol
A boring game like this, I would have rather stayed at home and watched on TV.
At least I could stretch out my legs and change positions every now and then.

Oh well, it's exhibition anyway with a bunch of prospects.
I was really only interested in watching Schneider in net anyway.

Check craigslist, tons of cheap tickets on there. I've seen some as low as $35! I would go again but I have work unfortunately.
