does my lack of cheering make me a bandwagoner..? | I'm naturally just more reserved. I'm not really into the partying, the yelling, screaming, going to bar/pub/restaurant/in the street/in the arena,
etc celebrating. Just not my scene.
Don't get me wrong... when Canucks score, I do jump and yell. My reaction to Lappy's goal was exactly how he celebrated on the ice too.
It was pretty funny
But I just don't need that environment of a bunch of strangers doing the same beside me to make it feel complete.
I honestly don't think I would really want to go hug some strangers or HI-Five random strangers, even if we're all cheering for the same team.
I mentioned earlier somewhere in the thread that the more important the games,
the more I seclude myself to take away distractions from focusing purely on the game.
I don't really feel any shortcoming from not "being in the atmosphere"
I'm just as happy if I was celebrating, or with a bunch of friends at their house.
And besides, am I really ever alone when there's a bunch of us on this thread spamming whenever we score or win?? |

I had to get NHL Centre Ice this year so I could watch all the Canucks games. I prefer watching ....you can hear the analysis...watch replays and not have to talk to someone. I will be doing this tomorrow.
I also like watching with certain people in small groups. Damn this harsh makes me sound like a hockey snob.

I have been following the nucks since I was a young kid. I mostly watch at home and unlike some people don't yell at the TV. Def not a bandwagoner. The wagon hoppers are the ones who make all the noise IMO.

i'm a lot like you guys. i prefer watching at home and alone with my dogs (they don't make stupid comments ). but, i also like to go downtown and celebrate with other canucks fans. it's great to see the whole atmosphere. kindness from random canucks fans, cuties all around, what's not to like? it's only the small pockets of rowdy idiots that ruin things for the rest of us.

Same here. If I can't be at the game I sit at home and focus on what's going on. I wear the same jersey and the game hat.
Tomorrow will be a bit different though. I'm going to watch the game, cry for a bit after we win it, then rip it downtown to be amongst my fellow fans and soak up the atmosphere. Quote:

I actually like watching the game with a bunch of close buddies so I can kinda focus and help them distract me in a way cause I get way to stressed out.

I can see how stupid other fans can be when they don't know that much about hockey, but damn I love celebrating after wins in DT

This is something the Canucks have. A core passionate group of athletes coming together for one ultimate goal.
but heres one for u LBJ CockSuckers | Although not a big fan of Dallas and Dirk, he did wish Canucks luck during a TV timeout in game 1.
Let's win it all tomorrow!
On the road, blue colours, 3-2 series lead going into game 6, first in franchise history. |

It simply comes down your own preference. You can't really say those who are stupidly ecstatic are bandwagoners. Me and my friends are HUGE fans, and we lose our voices after the games. Whether it be from screaming "FUCK!" when the other team scores, or for us yelling "YEAHH!!" from scoring or winning. It may also be the attachment to the team because you've been supporting the team through the good and the bad.
I've been watching Canucks since I could remember, in grandpa's room with him and my uncle. When everybody else is downstairs watching chinese tv, we would be upstairs watching them play. I remember very well the pain we went through during '94, but that isn't going to stop us from cheering.
I agree with fliptuner. After the emotional tears of joy after winning, I will be making a bee-line to downtown and joining the rest of Vancouver, whether it be long time fans or mere bandwagoners.
In the end of the day -- We are ALL Canucks.

The team is 0-2 and outscored 12-1 in the two viewing party games I watched. Looks like I'll be watching this road game at home hah.
