Thought this was kinda cool as well:

Heard something cool this morning on the team1040.

They talked about how Tambelini should go in for Raymond. The fact that he grew up in the lower mainland and has grown up watching the Canucks may give him that emotional push that is also combined with the dream of playing game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals in your home town playing for your team.

I think they should play Tambelini and I think he will deliver. :fullofwin:

Hopefully Raymond's back in Vancouver in time for Game 7. Maybe he can make an appearance to give the crowd/team a boost if necessary (like what Horton did)!

dasani604 06-14-2011 09:37 AM

Someone please tell me where I can get a Canucks jersey/shirt in Edmonton. I've been to 3 sports stores so far and they have every Canadian team except for the Canucks. Either they're popular or hated here, but it doesn't seem like anyone really cares about them over here/wants them to win.

^ linden, hamius, sammy, raymond and maybe rome should come out and just show their faces

should also play that Luc tribute clip in the middle of the game

Already been posted. With Vancouver being Hollywood North a lot of celebs are actually Canucks fans too. Don't be surprised if you see the likes of Kiefer Sutherland, Cuba Gooding Jr, Jerry Bruckheimer, Aylssa Milano, Michael Rosenbaum, Gene Simmons at game 7 tomorrow, they've all shown their support for the Canucks this playoff run.

Lol, as opposed to Canuck fans cheering when Horton went down?

Fans will always be immature towards players from other teams. That will never change.

Well he's basically the only option for that 2nd line spot. Unless AV moves Glass up there

He grew up in Port Moody a few streets over from me and went to the same school so I sure would love to see him win a cup. His buddies all gather at St. James Well in Newport Village on game days.

SumAznGuy 06-14-2011 09:54 AM

I'm not sure if it was posted earlier, but did they say why there wasn't a penatly call on Boychuk for the Raymond hit? From the replays I saw, the hit was later than Rome's and he had Raymond in a very vulnerable position.
And if I read correctly, the league isn't going to investigate the hit?

Just as an FYI, Alyssa is a huge sports fan, tomboy that way. Her company produces the majority of the female apparel for the NHL, NFL, NBA and MLB. Started because back then, she couldn't find proper fitting clothes for herself to show her fan sport of her favorite sports teams.

I seriously hope that Glass is not in tomorrow, Hodgson in for him while Tambo gets Raymond's spot.

I said the same thing to my co-workers.

Imo, AV doesn't trust Cody enough to play him in a Game 7. We all know who he loves Glass. Remember that SJ game when Glass took two penalties in two shifts? He ended up with more icetime after that. Biznasty was suprised and tweeted that if he had two shifts like that, he might as well start taking off his skates.

They thought that they just got "tangled up" from what I remember. Gillis is not happy about it either.

just a comment i read on tsn regarding the raymond injury.

Quote:

Bruins Fan Here. The puck was long gone when the hit took place. I do not belive there was intent to injure. However if Rome was suspended for his hit on Horton when he should not have been, Boychuck should also be suspended for this hit. I hope both Horton and Raymond make a full recovery. This being said Both teams should really be ashamed of themselves for they way they have been playng the slashing the cross checking the taunting the jabbering. Some of that is ok. But this series has been overboard. I think the refs need to go back to school. Missed calls for and against both teams in this series. I personally do not think it was lopsided for either team.

TRDood 06-14-2011 10:25 AM

I think Game 7 is going to be similar to the BOS/TBL game. No whistles, no PP.

At least that means no SH goals.

Their reason for suspending Rome:
-Late hit (at least 1.5 seconds late compared to Rome)
-Player without the puck (Raymond never touched it)
-Player in a vulnerable position
-Caused a serious injury (Horton is with their team and waving a towel, Raymond fractured vertebrae)

Joe Thornton earlier this year:
Quote:

"It's just something with Boston; it seems like they have a horse shoe," Thornton said before Thursday's game between the Canucks and Sharks.

"There's just something about Boston and the disciplinary [decisions] are on their side. I'm not sure why that is or anything. I'm not assuming that Colin's kid being on the team, that's why."

NHL senior vice-president Colin Campbell's son, Greg, plays for the Bruins.

Campbell's assistant in the NHL justice department, Mike Murphy, ruled Wednesday that Chara would not be suspended for running Montreal Canadien Max Pacioretty into a stanchion by the player benches on Tuesday, causing head and neck injuries.

Thornton noted that only two games earlier, Bruin Milan Lucic was not suspended for a blindside cross-check to the head of Tampa's Dominic Moore, who was engaged with Bruin Nathan Horton after a whistle.

"We saw the Lucic cross-check to the head a couple of nights earlier and there's no disciplinary thing," Thornton said. "It's just really bizarre."

suggestions on some good bars/restaurants downtown to catch the game wednesday? for the most part of the playoffs, i've tried to stay away from downtown due to heavy traffic and stuff.

gdoh 06-14-2011 10:33 AM

wow i did not know his son was on boston...

Ikkaku 06-14-2011 10:35 AM

Glass has been absolutely useless this series. He was somewhat decent before his injury, but now he is just another floater, whom misses his opportunities.

Spidey 06-14-2011 10:38 AM

Remember when the Rangers were up 3-1 against Vancouver and lost both game 5 and 6 by 2+ goal margins... Then the Rangers got home, they took care of business. Home ice advantage definitely helps.. Especially in the playoffs/finals, when players are dead dog tired, the fans are what can give the home team an extra push...

ajax 06-14-2011 10:39 AM

All things aside, my biggest concern is the lack of our powerplay. Where did it go? Are we at like 3%? This series would have been over had we converted even only like 15% of our chances.
