maybe we should keep schneider for the next few seasons. We can start a new trend - a home goalie (Lu) and an away goalie (Schneid).
What do you think? |

what do u mean maybe?? Schneider still got one more year with us on the contract? and who said we are trading him?
i think some other team has done that before with one goalie playing all away while the other one plays all home....but then come on....the away goalie needs some love from the fans too lol

Blame Luongo all you want, but the canucks only scored 7 goals in 7 games.

it's not just luongo's fault, although he was part of it from the game 3 and 4.
It's also the offence not generating any goals and the defense not doing its job. On top of this, boston had a hot goalie.

Personally, I think Ballard is done as a Canuck. He's been a great guy through this entire season, but he just never found his place here with the team. If we trade him, that's $4.2 cap hit we can use to sign Bieksa and possibly enough to keep Ehrhoff as well (considering the cap is being raised a few million also). | Ballard is done most likely. Salo will be gone, and I hope that clears enough cap space to resign Bieksa, and hopefully Ehrhoff will stick around.
The good news is, the core group of forwards will be around. Most of the Free Agent forwards can be replaced, though I'd like it if Hansen could stick around.
Can't wait until the next season! I haven't followed the team as much as I'd like since moving to HK, but I will be into the team more than ever after this run! GO CANUCKS GO!

He's not the ONLY one to blame for sure, but how can he not be the biggest reason? Especially when his brain farts lead to entire team meltdowns?

Score 0 goals, blame goalie.
You dont win games by not scoring goals. The canucks scored more than 2 goals only one game, and got shut out for 2.
Shit 3 of those goals were bad goals anyway. I think whats happening is alot of people are comparing Lu to the guy at the other end of the rink and doing the "Thomas woulda saved it, so Lu sucks" Thomas saved everything, hes on a different level. He faced more shots than any other goalie in playoff history, and let in 7 goals in the series.
I wont blame Lu for the loss. At least not entirely. Ya he shit the bed in a couple games, but he also has TWO SHUTOUTS in the same series.
I will truely blame bad luck tho. How many times did pucks bounce over sticks on open netters? Someone forgot to grease the hockey gods.
That, and I am looking forward to seeing the injury report. I think people underestimate the significance of losing Sammy and Hammer for most of the series, as well as starters like Rome, MayRay (even tho only one game). I wouldnt be surprised to see Hank, Kesler, Edler, and a few other key guys having significant injuries.

sometimes i think the reffing style has some effect on the play, not saying the refs were bias but it was clear to me that they like to keep this series down and dirty - in the regular season u get atleast 10-12 calls with the way both teams played
we were a highly skilled team but i didnt think we had the grit or dirtyness to compete in this series - not the majority others

i think the turning point has to have been game 3. to me, it was a culmination of the horton hit and the 8 goals. the horton hit woke the bruins up, it fired them up. it's not Rome's fault it had the effect it did, but the bruins never really looked back since the start of that 2nd period. the 8 goals i blame on AV/Lu collectively. AV for not doing his job as a coach and pulling Lu, and Lu for not doing what was best for the time in that moment.
the key injury for us was definitely the loss of Hamhuis. without our shutdown pairing (which was used rounds 1 through 3), the defense was lost. it's never a good sign when your defense is struggling to find rhythm and consistency in the middle of a cup final. Salo, Bieksa, Edler and Ehrhoff did their best to hold it together but in the end it just wasn't enough to hold off the Bruins.
I'm very curious to see the Canucks' injury list so we can get a more accurate picture of what kind of odds they were facing.

Canucks had 4 chances to win the Stanley Cup. Luongo SHIT THE BED in 3 of them, and played poorly in one. No they didn't score in GAME 7, but that wasn't the only chance they had to win.
Like I said, Luongo isn't to blame ENTIRELY. But in my personal opinion, he's a big part of it. Losing Hamhuis was also big, and other injuries were probably a factor as well.

perhaps we need that one dmen that could work with anyone regardless of who is dance partner is - ala lidstrom or any norris trophy winners
if that one dmen can handle the extra flack the rest of the blue line doesnt need to struggle to find rhythm
just my 0.02
