It hit home for me after the 2nd goal, I knew it was over. The 3rd goal was just the icing on the cake for an epic failure by this team after going up 2-0 in this. For fuck sakes, we were up 2-0, all we needed was one win in Boston and we were on course for a cup win but instead we let them back in the series and last night handed them the cup. It might be another 10 years, 20 years, before we go on a cup run, that's what hurts the most. |
Some thoughts on this season and what to look for next season: AV needs to go, sorry but he was out-coached by Joel Quenneville and the team bailed him out. Out-coached again this series and couldn't solve Boston's system. Benched Ballard for whatever reason and then threw him under the bus in game 4 and then benched him again? Sorry he's had his shot - time for a new voice in the room. Luongo needs to stop being a baby and toughen up already. Who blows 3 games in a cup final and still calls himself an elite goalie? Cory Schneider needs to be played more so that Lu has to earn his no.1 spot again. Tanev looked amazing and he should fill in on the D line quite nicely. We still have the core D group signed for the next couple years so we're good there. Some minor tweaks on the forwards and we're good to go again. Very disappointed and sad about the loss espeically after what the team's accomplished this year... but it sounds like the core guys are ready to work on their shortcomings in the summer and go at it again in October. Positive signs and I hope for a better result next year. |
I was so ready to either win the cup or lose it because of the officiating; I thought it was gonna be one or the other. But I was wrong. The Bruins deserved the win today. All of their goals came from hustling plays and I hate the guy but Tim Thomas was great. Again. Anyway, I don't feel cheated, which was my worry. I'm actually looking forward to the offseason now. |
Im gonna admit, I took this pretty hard. The 2nd time is worst most notable was the fact that I was able to WITNESS AND DOCUMENT EVERYTHING I DID in 2011, vs when I was a little boy in 94. I remembered that I was pretty saddened back then, but worst now. I will leave my picture that I changed as my avatar all the way until the start of 2011/2012 season, quote that. It will stick |
Yes, thanks to this thread for educating me, giving me a different point of view, updates, stats, and a sense of comradery in the support of our team. |

This thread was great too |
i just hate how we lost 4-0 and didnt lost in OT or 1 goal game they said lost is a lost, 4 goal or 1 goal or OT goal is all the same to me, its different ..... perhaps it looked so hopeless that we needed something to cheer about |

although a loss in an OT might actually be more heartbreaking, dont you think? |

On top of that, the riot just exacerbated everything. Keep that chin up. We'll get that Stanley Cup in this lifetime. Go Canucks go! |

Twitter is where the epic happened |

I don't know, but I was hoping an epic OT battle... But no. Canucks get plowed over again, for the 4th time. I can't help but hate the fact it seems like we got 3 lucky wins. Anyway, I'm surprised I haven't felt sad or upset or anything yet. I'm usually so emotional about the Canucks but it's a combination of the riot, and the loss haven't fully sunk in yet. Seeing how all these retards rioting, raging and stuff, makes me want to remain more composed, putting things in perspective. It's just a game at the end of the day... It's sad to see people riot over something like this. Makes me want to just not even care about this playoffs or the loss, just to feel like I'm a better person than all these idiots. |

Who do you guys want to see back next season? Tons of UFAs... Ehrhoff- UFA Bieksa-UFA Lapierre-RFA Higgins-UFA Hansen-RFA Glass-UFA Alberts-UFA Salo-UFA Torres-UFA I'd like to see Hansen, Lapierre, Torres (if he isn't asking too much), Higgins (on the edge with this one as well), Bieksa and if we can afford it, Ehrhoff back. The others can be let go I think, as well as Samuelsson. I would love to see Ballard play with us, but I don't see that happening because of whatever happened, the dude has been mis-managed completely. Trade him if I can so he can actually play some hockey, which he deserves. Maybe we can try and get Kes a more legitimate winger to play with? |
Here's who I think will be gone and re-signed. Ehrhoff- Gone Bieksa-Re-signed Lapierre-Gone Higgins-Gone Hansen-Re-signed Glass-Gone Alberts-? Salo-Gone Torres-Re-signed |
Bieksa. |
Although I dont think i said it here on this thread, I did note that a player of Juice's caliber are a dime a dozen, where as Ehrhoff, as special as he is, can be had in a Tanev. Call me stupid..but i believe that Edler can do everything that Ehrhoff can do + more. but who knos. the off season shuffling could see us resign both if the cap were to go up. |

I havnt given up on our boys yet, but i did tell myself and many others that if THIS wasnt our year, i dont know when will be our year. We had such solid lineups with such great chemistry, and just a great group of guys. History was supposed to have been made. The cup was supposed to be going from #33 to his brother. Not from #33 to recchi. And like i said, i havnt given up on our team, that day will likely never come. But i'm just fucking feeling defeated, disappointed and outright crushed. Shit sucks.
