^nah...i think its just their casual team dinner gathering kinda thing...
if it was birthday dinner, then they would have brought their wives and gfs out (still waiting to see pic of cory's hot girl that everyones talking about)
Matthew Sekeres:
Kevin Bieksa, Christian Ehrhoff and Sami Salo all suggest they would take less to remain Canucks. UFAs as of July 1.

Thomas' cap hit is at 5mil, and Luongo's at 5.3mil
Pretty similar. That's all that matters to us fans...
But yes, his inconsistency is very troublesome. During playoffs,
there isn't time for a slump. The season's over before you snap out of it.
But that being said, I'm not sure what other goalie's superhuman like Thomas. (But you have to remember his D played a big role too).
It's hard to say Schneider would have done better. We can only speculate that, because he wasn't playing most of the time.
So he by default gets a win...?
Thomas' cap hit is for the next 2-3 years, Luu's cap hit is for 10 more years, at 5.3million. you think in 5 years he's going to be worth 5.3million?
sorry i disagree, i've never really been a Luongo fan, of course i see that he's a great goalie, but his mental strength is as good as a 5 year old trying to hold out on candy, sometimes when we're losing 3-0 he closes the door and sometimes he let's in 5 soft ones.
No bagging on him, but that contract he signed? fuck that.

i think we all know lu isn't going to play all 12 years. it was clearly to circumvent the cap and it's a fair assumption that he will retire before the end of it. when that happens remains to be seen.
I'm pretty sure bieksa, salo and erhoff knows what's at stake here. Being so close to winning the cup this year means they have a very good shot again next year and hopefully succeed rather than taking more $$ and not having the same chance elsewhere. They now know what it takes and they all can take this learning experience and use it to their advantage next year. Posted via RS Mobile

oh yea definitely dont see him playing in his 40s and we all know it was to push the cap hit down as much as possible so that he could make that 10 million this and last year, but my point is the cap hit isn't so bad now, but it gets much worse sooner than later.

Do you even know what you are talking about?
At the time, Luongo was the best option. When did Ehrhoff have discipline issues?!
Imo Gillis will trade Cory if he's 100% confident with Lu in goal. If not, he'll keep Cory around for another season and worry about his goaltending next season.

Keep your chin up high....at least now our current players have playoff exp...we will do much better next year!!

The problem I see is... Schneider has not been tested.
Like I said eariler, fans rate him above Luongo by default right now.
But I'm not sure are some of the opinions based on Schneider is better than Luongo now, or in Schneider's prime, he will be better than Luongo?
Either way, this will probably be a gamble... but this is all assuming if Luongo wants out on his own, since we can't even think of getting rid of him until so.
