I'm thinking Schaefer gets a contract.

orange7 10-01-2010 09:01 PM

did hodgson play?

how'd he perform?

spoon.ek9 10-01-2010 09:37 PM

he played. i'd say he performed about the same, no points. everyone knows he's going to spend some time with the moose already though.

Euro7r 10-01-2010 09:42 PM

Good win. ! Can't wait for the regular season to begin now.

Be realistic. There's no room for Peter on this team and remember this is guy is on a PTO. Schaefer is seen as a PK yet he has played games where he was on the ice when the opposition scored on the PP.
Its quite likely another team may sign him after Schaefer showcased himself but he won't bring anything else to the table that guys like Desbiens, Rypien, Glass, Oreskevich, Hordichuck already possess on the 4th line.

The player that has earned himself a roster spot is Alexander Bolduc.
His skating was immaculate, he was finishing checks and showed a lot of skill for a 4th liner. Bolduc makes Hordi, R.Johnson, Bernier look awful in comparison

This is my opening day roster next saturday vs King

Danny Henny Sammy
Raymond Kesler Tamby
Hansen Malhotra Torres
Desbiens Bolduc Rypien/Oreskovich

Luongo
Shneider

Watched bits and pieces of the game last night, seem like a solid effort by the entire team but man, for a 40 year old Teemu is still going strong.

Various news outlets are reporting that the Vancouver Canucks have put winger Darcy Hordichuk and defenceman Shane O'Brien on waivers this morning.

The team had talked about making cuts today.

Hordichuk, 30, had one goal, two points, a minus-seven rating and 142 penalty minutes in 56 regular season games last season for Vancouver. He didn't dress for a playoff game.

O'Brien, 27, had two goals, eight points, a plus-15 rating and 79 penalty minutes in 65 regular season games. In 12 playoff games, he had one goal, three points, a plus-3 rating and 25 penalty minutes.

MORE TO COME LATER

spoon.ek9 10-02-2010 10:48 AM

damn.. SOB had a good season with us last year :(

Hondaracer 10-02-2010 10:58 AM

yea but Alberts was much better in the pre-season

sucks for him, i liked SOB as well

spoon.ek9 10-02-2010 11:11 AM

what's alberts' cap hit? $1.1mil? SOB at $1.7mil for a 6th, 7th, or 8th Dman was probably part of the decision.

edit: according to cap geek, SOB @ $1.6mil and Alberts @ $1.05mil

jigga250 10-02-2010 11:26 AM

damn....I like SOB, he stepped it up in the playoffs playing big minutes

hotshot1 10-02-2010 11:28 AM

Finally Hordichuk is gone! Sweeeet. But damn, I like SOB but with a $1.7M cap hit over Alberts with $1.1M.
