hordichuck and rypien are interchangeable with rypien having more offensive upsides gillis is pretty much going through with what he said that we need players who can contribute as well as be hard to play against on 3rd and 4th lines |
4th line will probably be bolduc, rypien, with glass and desbien switching it up. That's what I'd like to see at least. Posted via RS Mobile |

Sad to see SOB go. Loved his personality haha. Oh well. Do what you gotta do Gillis to get us that Stanley Cup!! |
we have to win it this year! |
they gave SOB 1.6 qualifying offer, now hes on waivers???? |
The reason more then likely is that no one expected Alberts to setup like he did in the preseason and with making 500k less that gives us room to sign say Morrison for the league min if he's willing to take that. |
500mill less? :P i think we all liked the growth of SOB, and also his passion -- from being just a penalty taking goon, to turning into a pretty solid hockey player. |
The 6th dman spot was SOB's to lose. He didn't do anything in the preseason while Alberts showed how well he can play. SOB knew what he needed to do (be aggressive and be a presence on the ice) but he didn't do it. |
you know what I mean LOL. I'm a huge fan of SOB sad to see him go :( |
Hordi was deadweight lol. Could not fight half as good as Rypien even |
O'brien & Hordi cut from lineup. This is getting good!! A little late to make the move to dump Hordi and O'brien waiver is a no brainer since Albert was absolutely gunning for his spot which he did. I'm liking how the Canucks brass is getting rid of all the dead weight and useless players. Let the young prospects shine and were gonna have a sick good team this year. I don't want to see them sign Morrisson or Shaefer. Let Tambi have a shot he deserves it plus if he makes the team, remember his dad is GM of the oilers. Could be some thank you favors in the form of a trade at the trading deadline. Who knows.. |
SOB Useless? He's the life of the game. |
he should have tried harder then |
On my phone right now so hard to check but are the Canucks still over the cap? Posted via RS Mobile |

AV already said that their play during the pre-season + cap hit had a big factor in their decisions on who gets cut today. |

SOB was not worth 1.6M, at most a 1M player. |
Alberts will be better this season... I hope |
Alberts will be fine for the 5 mins he plays every game |
Gonna miss sob and his personality on and off ice He has a lot of passion for the game Too bad he didn't step it up in pre seaso Posted via RS Mobile |
Moss, Kotalik, Langkow, Stajan, and Stone all out indefinitely... LOL, I kinda feel bad for u tegra |

    please shut up. |
i think all this shit about the nucks being over the cap is all BS anyways, because no one saying "they are 3+ million over the cap" is taking into account that both Salo and Burrows are gonna be on LTI for at least a month, thats like 1 million per month off the cap pretty much |

My understanding of the cap was that the players average salary will work against the cap if he is in the line-up. This does not mean that he gets X taken off if he is on LTIR because he plays less and therefore is less against the cap. I thought it was when the player returns, his full cap hit will come into effect but remain dormant if he is injured. |
