I hate this trade too but Ballard is better than Hamhuis. He is 5'11" but he plays big. He's just as physical as Hamhuis and is better offensively.

By no means am I saying this is a good trade, but I think we should only have one of Raymond/Grabner in the lineup anyways. If that's the case, I'd rather see Mason stay than take a risk with Grabner

If they do the Ballard deal and somehow find a way to go out and get Volchenkov or Hamhuis as well it could be sick. You then move Bieksa or Edler to clear some cap, resign O'Brian and our Defense would be pretty sick. You bring up Hodgson and Schroeder, sign a depth forward and our team would be better then last year.

Edler? Seriously? Why move him? He's better than Hamhuis and Volchenkov is a crap ton of salary.
