Good game, tough lose, that's life! Now onto the next 76 games...

It was a good game not a win but it's a start.

it didnt look like he was expecting that shot at all

it was like he was waiting for a deke

LUUUUUUUU 10-20-2010 08:20 PM

yea luu was expecting something more from toews

chouchou 10-20-2010 08:23 PM

can't expect anything when its toews. you begin to lean on an idea and bam, he's already got you wondering wtf happened. he's just.. that good.

mako 10-20-2010 08:28 PM

Luu actually played better than Turco IMO

Turco got beat cleanly on the two goals and Samuelsson had him down and out except the puck slid away from him

RiceIntegraRS 10-20-2010 08:38 PM

this was a good bounce back game for the canucks, especially against a good team in the blackhawks. If u minus the shootout, Luongo played really well.

We'll keep saying that until January. By that time it won't hurt so much.

Canucks celebrating 40 years of fail.

We have no right to make fun of Leafs fans, Flames fans, Oiler fans, Senators' fans, Habs fans, 'cause we ain't gonna see Lord Stanley for quite some time.

It's hard being a 'Nucks fan. Maybe my grandson will see a Canuck team bring home the cup.

So frustrating.

wow, don't break your ankles on your way off the bandwagon:rolleyes:

The Nucks were .500 mid november last year and won the division. It's a bit early to panic yet.

I havent seen the replays, but my feelings is that LUUU needs to work on his SO's

edit: just saw the replay, cant really blame LU, those last 2 were just super bad luck...

sigh

Hondaracer 10-20-2010 09:03 PM

fuckin hate losing to CHI..

dL 10-20-2010 09:17 PM

I usually give up when it heads into a shootout

Luongo played a really good game. He played a big part in getting us to OT and a huge part in getting us to the SO.

spoon.ek9 10-20-2010 09:34 PM

i'm with the guys who see the positives out of tonights game. this was a tough loss after a MUCH improved effort from last night. looks like AV was serious about everyone needing to be better starting with himself.

raygunpk 10-20-2010 09:48 PM

i still don't agree with a lot of AV's decisions, but i guess that's just me.

Durrann 10-20-2010 11:00 PM

Can't blame luongo for the shootout loss
He played a solid game
If only one more person aside from daniel sedin who scored one more goal
we wouldn't have gone to shootout
Only if eh

the last 2 years we have gone 7-7 and 6-5 in October. and look where we ended up to end the season

We're a point over .500 right now. and we have 4 significant injuries.

I try real hard to avoid reading these threads, and other 'fan' opinions or talking to people who dont know hocker or panicking bandwagoners. theres so much crap it almost gets to the point where it makes me not enjoy the game anymore.

Harvey Specter 10-21-2010 12:41 AM

Better effort tonight but should have won in the SO.

cctw 10-21-2010 01:36 AM

yes Luongo and the canucks did play a strong game and got a point...but that's not enough...just because Luongo got us one point does not justify him not showing up for the shootout..

its like every year Luongo and the team is good enough to make the playoffs, yet choke 2nd round everytime...
you can't just say oh they played a strong season so you can forgive them for choking in the playoffs..

a loss is a loss regardless of how good you played..it just means you didnt play hard enough....e.g 2nd period last 8 mins we had a flurry of chances but didn't capitalize on it.

to be honest i'd be really happy this year if the Canucks make it past 2nd round...at least this would show progress...conference champs or stanley cup is considered a big bonus..

and just for the record..we are actually one point below 500 atm.

and biekshit coughed up the puck in OT...ughh...

DanHibiki 10-21-2010 01:44 AM

The hawks had a shit load of breakaways that game geeeez.

Noir 10-21-2010 02:12 AM

I'm never one to overhype Luongo but I can't fault the guy on this one. Apart from being the big reason we went to OT and saved it (save on Hossa breakaway), I actually think he saved the last 2 SO attempts.

He looked like he read Sharp and Kane perfectly. How he loses the puck once he saved it is just beyond me. I'm wondering if those pads are fairly new and can't feel the puck under him as well as he should.

As for Toews, that guy is just money. I was expecting one hell of a deke at the time too.

Ronin 10-21-2010 03:32 AM

Louie has never been good at shootouts. It's something he seriously needs to work on.

Do you remember a game Lu stole for us in the shootout? Yes, we've won them with him in net but it was never because of him that we won.

He played a good game...better than Turco. It's unfortunate it came down to a SO.

Hondaracer 10-21-2010 06:42 AM

Shootouts are basically a coin flip, one of those pucks doesnt get across the line and it could have went the other way

To act like losing in the shootout = Canucks giving up is idiotic

the hossa breakaway wasn't even that good, it looked like hossa was trying to settle down the puck and couldn't get a legit shot off. idk, i guess i'm just sour about losing and feeling bad for luu, i just want him to get past this slump.
