Try harder................

I thought we agreed long ago that anyone who says that word "bandwagoner" gets an automatic ban from this thread, which, would actually help you, LOL.

People make negative comments and show their frustration and they're all of a sudden bandwagoners?

I've been a Canuck fan for 43 years. Kept hoping and still do. Colleagues used ot make fun of the "Nucks knowing I would be totally pissed off. Now I laugh along side.

as per Brian Burke, its akin to a circus act where football players throw the ball through hoops of fire

shootouts should not be determining games! And its time for games to be worth 3 pts in regulation, 2 for OT win, 1 for OT loss.

Hey guys, what's that website some of you have bought jerseys from that sometimes has discounts on lettering and stuff? I tried searching the thread, but it's just too big

Shootouts are great entertainment. Just because our home team sucks to the bone, doesn't mean it's a bad idea.

Games need to be decided. Some teams have a great track record. I know....... we should tell the teams they are all winners and it's all about playing the game and having fun, LOL.

shawn79 10-21-2010 08:29 AM

its not a bad idea but it sucks that teams with a shoot out specialist can steal games just like that...

It's undeniable that the shootout is exciting, which is what the league wants...

I don't know what's stopping them from implementing the 3 points per game thing. I guess if they did, there wouldn't be as much competition fighting for the last few playoff spots.

Yeah, hang around during regulation, then put out your 3 snipers for the shootout...

AzNightmare 10-21-2010 08:50 AM

I personally enjoy watching shootouts.
I hate it when it ends in OT.
Everytime it goes in OT, I wish for both teams to hang on just so it goes into shootout.

Well, I don't know about this season, but last season with Wellwood and previous seasons
with Linden and Morrison, I had confidence the team could still win it regardless.

Last night's shootout hurt, but I'm not gonna be bitter about it and wish for it to be eliminated from the game.

Although the 3 pt system should really be implemented.

Soundy 10-21-2010 08:51 AM

Well, as of this morning, after 7 games, Daniel is tied with Brad Richards for second overall for points with 10 (Hossa has 11, and has played one more game). Henrik is tied with Stamkos for third overall, with 9. Danny and Hossa also share the league lead of 7 goals, while Hank has sole possession of the lead in assists at 9 (Liles and Richards are tied for second with 8).

sedins are doing well, it's up to the other lines to start producing regularly. once we get past all of these injuries, we'll obviously start seeing better hockey.

i have the same feeling as you. i hate the game end in OT

Love the shootout. Although, I would prefer a 3 on 3 to see more dangles.

Hondaracer 10-21-2010 09:44 AM

Fuck Rypien is getting -160 on bodog for under 15 game suspension, I want a peice of it but betting is closed for it wtf

I am guessing he will get 10 games.

I was hoping for the 3 point system this year. There is no way the shootout should make a difference of 10-20 points a year in the standings. If no 3 point system, I would like to see it go back to the old way of ending in a tie.

DanHibiki 10-21-2010 01:44 PM

I don't like the shootout but I don't think it's fair to call it a circus.

Shootouts have been used to determine important games in the olympics and other internation levels. They use it in soccer as well.

Well if soccer uses it it must be right!

That's because in soccer, by the time shootouts come, players have been on their feet for 2 hours.

i'd say more like 1 hour, the other hour being dedicated to rolling on the floor in pain and agony

Bouncing Bettys 10-21-2010 05:04 PM

lol @ the squeaky door at the ACC being picked up by TSN's mics. You know every time the Rangers have made a line change

its definitely fair to call it a circus act

its taking one facet of a game, a breakaway (which is clear and you have no pressure...rare in regulation time) and deciding an outcome of a game based on this. For the same argument, you could have the players sprint to see whose the fastest, who can dangle the most, etc.

Just because the olympics and other international levels use the shootout does not make it valid. For the olympics its more of, "we need to wrap up this game and get the fuck out of this arena before the next event". How anti climatical would it have been for Canada to win gold in SO.

Soccer is not the same game as hockey. Dont know why you brought that into the conversation. NBA games are not decided with a slam dunk contest. And water polo games arnt decided by who can hold their breath under the water the longest
