What is that supposed to mean? The Nucks were the 2nd highest scoring team in the league last year dude, highest scoring defense.

Picked up Selanne, Ladd, and Kostitsyn
Borrowing them for the last 2 games of this week, hoping to cash in on their
hot streaks... and all 3 got ended their point streak. WTF...

Eberle's a good player and all... but something about him that I can't pinpoint makes him look retarded.
Like either he's slightly cross-eyed or something. He always looks like he's staring in space. And the gap between his teeth doesn't help.

Bieksa knocks down Luongo with shot when he wasn't looking

By BOTCHFORD FRI, OCT 29 2010 COMMENTS(3) THE WHITE TOWEL

There were a few intense moments for Roberto Luongo at practice Friday after he was cut down at the back of his knee with a shot.

"I was digging the pucks out of the net and one of our guys decided to take a slap shot and it hit me in the back of the leg," Luongo said.

But hold on, what would a Luongo scrum be these days without a one liner?

"The good news is we'll be working on skills tomorrow so guys can work on keeping their head up before they make a pass or shot," he said.

That one may need some punch up in the writer's room. But we get the point.

Kevin Bieksa is the one who aimlessly, and dangerously, fired the shot. (Aimless and dangerous, hmmm, sounds familiar).

"I iced it a bit but it was nothing serious," Luongo said. "But at first, it hit the nerve so you lose feeling in your leg a little bit. It came back slowly. It was more of a scare off the hop than anything else.

"I don't know if you ever got a charley horse before but it's kind of that feeling."
Biekshit at it again. This time trying to killl Lu

Timewav3zer0 10-30-2010 10:18 AM

Well, his shots always hit something and that's the problem.

It never reaches the back of the net.

The Buffalo Sabres received some bad news Friday as the Buffalo News is reporting that forward Jason Pominville failed his neuro-psych test as he attempted to make his return to the Sabres lineup from a concussion.

Pominville had been practicing with the team all week while feeling no ill effects from a concussion he suffered when he was slammed into the boards by Chicago Blackhawks' defenceman Niklas Hjalmarsson on October 11th. He had hoped to be back in the Sabres lineup in time for Friday's game against the Atlanta Thrashers however the Buffalo News is reporting that the team has sent him back to Buffalo to be re-examined by doctors.

"The disappointment is everybody really thought after the days of practice and the work he put in that he was going to be playing, and I was one of them, too," coach Lindy Ruff told the Buffalo News. "There's been no ill effects from practicing. He's gone full go. He's gone through battle drills. He had no headaches, stuff like that. There have been no side effects to exercise. Normally, what sets a guy back is he will have headaches or he won't feel right, or he may feel dizzy or lightheaded, but Jason has had none of that, so it's a little bit of a different area for us."

In order to return from a concussion, a player must first take a pair of tests when they feel that they have returned to full health. The first is to establish a baseline, and then the player must match that baseline in the second test in order to be cleared to play.

"It's one of those that, even without having this concussion, it's a pretty tough test," Pominville told the Buffalo News earlier in the week. "You've got to remember different shapes, different words. It's all memory stuff. They show you a sheet for maybe 10 seconds, and you've got to remember as many things as you can that are on the sheet and draw it exactly the same way.

"It's stuff that's pretty interesting, but at the same time if you have a bad day you might not pass it. If the first time you did you had a great day, it might be tough to get back to that level."

The 27-year old Pominville has been held scoreless in the three games that he has been able to play thus far this season. He had 24 goals and 38 assists in 82 games for the Sabres last year.

Penguins Unveil Winter Classic Uniform
Thursday, 10.28.2010 / 1:15 PM / News

http://cdn.nhl.com/penguins/images/u...wc-jersey1.jpg
The Pittsburgh Penguins today unveiled their uniform for the 2011 NHL Bridgestone Winter Classic on Jan. 1 at Heinz Field.

Predominantly navy blue with light blue accents, the uniform is a new design that features elements from many different eras of Penguins uniforms. It was designed by Reebok with input from both the Penguins and the NHL.

“We wanted to create a uniform that celebrates the rich history of Penguins hockey, but with a new look – giving fans something they would really like,” said Keith Leach, Director of Merchandising for Reebok.

The logo, which was previously released in May, is the Penguins’ original logo from the inaugural 1967-68 season – although it was never worn on a uniform. It features a skating penguin, wearing a scarf.

The Penguins wore various versions of blue uniforms from 1967-80, so the colors were selected as a tribute to team history – in keeping with the theme of the Winter Classic event, which is to take the game back to its roots.

The Penguins wore a “throwback” uniform from the 1970s in their first Winter Classic appearance in 2008. This new design is considered a “fusion” because it is patterned after a number of different uniform elements.

Penguins Winter Classic jerseys will be available for sale to the public the week of Nov. 15. They will be available at numerous retail outlets, including Dick’s Sporting Goods and the PensGear stores at CONSOL Energy Center.

While the new uniform will make its debut in the Jan. 1 Winter Classic against the Washington Capitals, it also will be worn two other times in the second half of the season – Feb. 10 vs. Los Angeles and March 12 vs. Montreal, both at CONSOL Energy Center.
