leafs shut out again. most nights they are competive and even outplay opponents and can't seem to buy a goal lately which keeps me hanging in hoping they can turn it around but its getting frustrating
Sonick is a genius. I won't go into detail what's so great about his post. But it's damn good!

i don't see why you hold that against all of us. it doesn't entitle you to troll us in this thread (not that you do, just making a point).
I don't hold it against you guys, I was just attempting to demonstrate that some canuck fans do show an interest in the Leafs on some level. I know quite a few canuck fans who mark Canucks/Leafs games on their calendar well in advance and vise versa. I hope the leafs can at least make it interesting because until the last few years they used to be great games.

i wouldn't consider trolling any level of interest at all. trolling is just... trolling. most people mark down the canucks/leafs game because it's been one-sided for quite awhile now. but i do see what you're trying to say here, i just don't see it myself.

If the success, failure, or general existence of a team did not matter to non fans, they would pay that team no mind and not troll. You don't troll someone/something out of the blue unless you are looking for a reaction or seeking attention.
As for canuck fans wanting to watch Canucks/Leafs games simply because they are one-sided in favour of the Canucks, I have idea where you got that notion. I hate to generalize on this but a lot of what I hear from Canuck fans and the Vancouver media are complaints of how the media focuses too much on the Leafs, how CBC always airs the Leafs on HNIC every saturday even if its a game against Columbus, how TSN airs Leaf highlights first no matter how exciting other games are, how Leaf/Canuck games are always set to accomodate Ontario's time zone, and so on. There are many reasons for these things but that is besides the point. The point is, Vancouver has long held a certain level of anamosity towards "the eastern fatcats" in Toronto/Ontario and the Leafs are just once oultet for them to do this. They love to hate the Leafs. Plus, not too long ago (up until 1996), the Leafs were in the same conference as the Canucks and would meet in the playoffs, even facing eachother along the Canucks' very memorable run to the Stanley Cup finals in 1994. Don't forget, you're talking to a Leafs fan living in BC, I get to hear it all first hand.
Sundin was one former Leaf who no leaf fan would boo. Notice how it is mentioned that the crowd was on its feet and how cheers erupt in Toronto when he scores that goal. That was a great event to witness as many leaf fans including myself, were happy that if we had to lose to anybody, it could be our great former captain. I recall Hughson saying the dagger comment but I always thought he was dead wrong about it.

see, that's the thing. trolling for attention/reaction is the whole point, it doesn't stem from genuine interest in the leafs. people troll because it pisses people off. the logical reasoning behind this is because there is still a rivalry between leafs/canucks that people like to play on.
i agree that the media bitches a lot about the leafs and bashes them at any given chance. do i agree with it? no, but it's fun for fans to read and especially the occasional fan who isn't as informed as you are about all the history and whatnot.
