Iginla has 3 goals in his last 30 games, 2 in last 25....man that guy went from premier forward to washed up bum in a hurry

murd0c 11-12-2010 07:21 PM

I was reading about how Iginla can't stand it there since the Sutter's took over. I would be surprised if he didn't light it up after he get's traded!!

he has no one to play with.

ahl caliber players aren't going to help him rack up goals.

give iginla crosby for a centerman, and i think iginla will get a hat trick in almost every game (well not really, but you get my point).

shawn79 11-12-2010 08:07 PM

The whole team chemistry has totally changed. If jokinen tanguay and iginla didnt work the first time why would it work again? TELL ME

If iginla was traded to the pens for malkin, its not even safe to say they can build a team around malkin lol...

no he's just sulking. he basically is trying to cherry pick all the time. he's not using his power forward skills that made him an all star, now he's just a playing like a russian sniper.
he needs a change of scenery.

Ronin 11-12-2010 09:30 PM

Wow, Iginla... -4 tonight in 16 minutes of ice time. He's not even getting the minutes he used to.

Seriously, who the fuck is Nazem Kadri? Sounds like some kind of Bohemian pastry or something... I think I saw a package of Nazem Kadri at the deli, it was like, $12.99 for a half-dozen of them...

Tim Budong 11-12-2010 10:33 PM

Tough to say but I really think iggy needs a change of scenery, as much as i like the guy

Hopefully IF they trade him, it'll be a lopsided trade for the other team

68style 11-12-2010 11:46 PM

The only thing I remember about Nazem Kadri was that he missed every single one-timer that came his way in the World Juniors.

Only a couple teams in the league can afford Iggy's salary.

Assuming he wants to go to a Cup contender and they won't trade within the division (the Avs have lots of cap and are a good team), the only plausible place for him to land is LA. They're a good young team with decent assets to trade and about $6m in cap space. Send a player and a prospect or something and that deal looks reasonable.

The only other places he could go that make sense cap-wise are Tampa and St. Louis but they're a bit off from being a contender.

The Caps could make a case but not without sending salary back the other way. I think the Pens have room due to LTIR but not $7m worth.

In conclusion, unless someone is monumentally stupid and doesn't know how to deal with NHL economics, Iggy goes to LA or he stays put in Calgary.

Gt-R R34 11-13-2010 12:41 AM

Iggie would fit the best with Crosby, a winger that can score on Pitts they haven't had that since....since when acutally?

Hondaracer 11-13-2010 12:46 AM

Iginla is on the downslope of his career, giving up Malkin for an old iginla would -never- happen, they would have to toss in a blue chipper or a high pick for that deal to even be considered

Maybe Iginla just cant do what he used to do anymore? not everyone is a Sellane

Bouncing Bettys 11-13-2010 01:19 AM

lol @ the Nazem Kadri bit. It is true he is getting too much press just for being called up.

Kadri is a good prospect but I don't think he or Aulie should be brought up right now in such a poor atmosphere. The team should be working on how to get back to playing like they did to start the season instead of making a quick fix which has the potential to harm the development of one of your top prospect

If he's still a star player he doesn't need an elite centre so he can score. Change of scenery might do him some good but his decline looks a lot similar to Naslund's decline.

SkinnyPupp 11-13-2010 02:57 AM

Can't compare Iginla, who has immense raw talent, to Naslund, who was in just the right place at the right time for everyone (even fucking Dan Cloutier most of the time).

I think he's a great player who is stuck on a joke of a team.

Harvey Specter 11-13-2010 04:20 AM

I still think Iginla can be an impact player for another team but it'll be tough for the Flames to dump his contract on another team unless another team is willing to give up a star or two and risk everything on Iginla which could happen this season by the looks of it.

punkwax 11-13-2010 07:23 AM

Ya. Iggy was playing on the 4th line last night. Sad really.

If he goes to LA... watch out Nucks fans.

I'd be suprised to see him get moved to a team in the west, that would be a last resort trade for sure.

I feel bad for Iginla. As much as it hate the Flames, Iggy has always rose above that. Hes a true Canadian hockey player on and off the ice. a real stand up guy.

anyone saying brent sutter needs to go should remember that darryls first call would probably be to mike kenan. haha

Greenstoner 11-13-2010 08:35 AM
