dont know if sutter is willing to give up what he has now for the future... the D-core is the best in the league right now. (sarich boumeester regehr babchuk giordano staios and kipper age:34)

Trading (iggy for b.schenn with franchise player potenial) morrison, jokenen and tanguay at the deadline for picks and getting top 3 pick at the draft could turn this franchise around quickly

the flame is not dead yet for calgary...

Quit trolling this thread with such retardedness

This was on Puck Daddy earlier...I had no idea the Leafs' D was this terrible.

See three guys lined up not really sure what to do...leaving Martin St. Louis all by himself in front of that goalie with the long name that starts with G.

The scary part is the play happens so slowly. The Canucks did something like this against the Blackhawks which left Kane or Hossa or someone wide open in front of Louie but that play happened with a serious scrum going on...not four Leafs against St. Louis and...Steve Downie, I think?

The fuck is Versteeg doing on this play? There's clearly no one in that corner to defend.

Bouncing Bettys 12-03-2010 04:54 AM

all 3 of those goals were the fault of the forwards or poor coaching for the most part. the first one, every leaf was breaking out, expecting kadri (i think it was him) to easily clear the zone and he failed to do so. the second goal, two forwards did a piss poor job of attempting to block the same shot. that was bad coaching by wilson to have those 2 out there instead of a couple of penalty killers or guys who aren't afraid to get infront of a point shot. the third goal, one of the forwards, in this case kessel, should have been covering for schenn who made a horrible giveaway when he should have shot on net.

:squint:

Really easy in hindsight and the birds eye view to talk shit about defense and positioning. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the Leafs at all and they really fumbled this one but for you to beak on Versteeg is ridiculous (maybe because it's the first name that shows up on the replay).

The two other D men, Komisarek and Beauchemin are both on. So what's a right winger supposed to do? He's supposed to take high up if the two D men are down low, and that's exactly where Versteeg is moving to. If anything, the D didn't clear the front of the net and left St. Louis alone.

Also, fumble one play = FOREVER TERRIBLE :troll:

I mistook 22 for 32 on that first play. What the fuck is 22 doing on that play? He's skating into a corner. Versteeg and 8 weren't paying attention when St. Louis was just behind them. He looked like he was surprised he was so open. Seriously, can you tell me the numbers of all the Leaf players? :IDL

It's not me. I said in my first sentence that this was from Puck Daddy and they were commenting on a blog post by some Leafs fans. I just went and dug up a video.

Only the first play in that vid is really that bad. #2 and #3 were the result of a good Tampa team, I think although, as you said, no one was blocking. That shit would not fly on the Canucks.

One of my favorite moments with Nazzy was when we were winning a game a few years ago by 2 or 3 with a minute left in the game and the guy goes and lays out to block a shot. That showed that he gave a shit...although I think that was before he stopped giving a shit.

Ronin 12-03-2010 05:37 AM

Turco in net tonight, despite the fact Corey Crawford has started all but one of the last five and won them all. Turco has 2 wins in November to Crawford's 5.

I actually think this is a bad thing for the Canucks as Turco will look to get back to form and he's always been good against the Canucks.

yup, turco has always been strong against the canucks. i swear, chicago is our kryptonite for whatever reason.. i REALLY hope to see a good game tonight (win or lose) and not another blowout. we need to show a much better effort against our biggest rivals.

I was watching the game live and it was funny when those guys came running down and threw Heatley's jerseys on the ice.

Canucks better win tonight. After being raped on home ice by the Hawks, it's time to give them a taste of ass rape. Luigi better come up big tonight - hug the post and close legs tight like a nun praying for jesus.

Bieksa, please don't shit your pants...... any other night but tonight. Hope Turco impersonates Luigi and mishandles the puck resulting in a goal.......... gawd, I'm so pessimistic right now. Chicago has our number - fuck, I hate that team.

MG1 12-03-2010 05:02 PM

I'm not sure if anyone has touched on it, but I think Joel Quenneville is the biggest Canuck killer of all time.

spoon.ek9 12-03-2010 05:03 PM

errr.. back to back powerplays for the hawks

Not really racist! 12-03-2010 05:04 PM

Rough stuff starting to ensue!!

Turco might get a shutout, LOL.

Not sure where this misconception is coming from....Vancouver is 3-1-1 in their last 5 in Chicago.

Kesler-Raymond-Tambi may be the fastest line in the league. Watching Tambellini make Giordano look like he was standing still the other night was priceless.

MG1 12-03-2010 05:22 PM

Holy fuck, Luongo's a poet and he didn't even know it...........
