Luongo had business losing that game based on how he played. I'm losing my patience with him. He definitely is not the same goalie he was when he first joined the team a la first round vs. Dallas. He still has his god-mode nights (Chicago, recently), but I just feel like he isn't able to steal game after game like he used to.

Last two goals hard to fault him.
Perfect shot by Selanne and a bounce off of a teammate

I'm worried bout the sedins. They haven't been dominating the play lately nor completing passes.

He doesn't need to steal games anymore. in 2007 we had no offense whats so ever. if the Sedins were shut down no one else was going to score so that why Lui had to be god like every night.

Now the canucks are a threat to score with every line which means we aren't playing very very defensive hockey which means more goals will go in but that should be far less than the amount we score. When Lui needs to be god like he is.

First one bounced off someone's skate or something too. Most of the goals he either had no chance or wasn't his fault.

Did you know...

...that asides from the Canucks, the other four teams in the NW division are currently sitting in the four last spots in the conference? :D

Edmonton is 15th
Calgary is 14th
Minnesota is 13th
Colorado is 12th

But the conference is so ridonkulously tight that while we're in 3rd place and Colorado is 12th, they only have three points fewer than us.

No goalie in the NHL steals game after game

The main thing he's lost since then IMO is that intimidation factor where teams knew they were going be facing a wall on a nightly basis, chalk it up to age, or the extreme parity in the NHL and west especially

Its the whole series if you look at it actually. We could not handle Chicago's forwards and that is what cost us the series both times. That's why our 3rd liners and D has been changed up this year.

Danny scored yesterday
And between the two of them they had a handful of chances
I don't know if it were in the highlights or not but Hank pulled an outside/inside move on a Dman and then almost deked the goalie.

they've been consistently generating points but what he means is that they haven't taken over the scoresheet recently.

mako 12-09-2010 04:16 PM

yeah it'd be nice to see a game where they rack up 3 or 4 points each

Mizter 12-09-2010 04:47 PM

Not related to Canucks but a pretty decent bench clearing brawl in a hockey game in the UK.

AzNightmare 12-09-2010 05:18 PM

Ooo! Luckily I picked up Selanne again, and I still have Briere.
Weee 3 pts tonight and still 9 mins left.

AzNightmare 12-09-2010 05:26 PM

Hmm... In my opinion, Henrik winning the Art Ross might just be a one-hit wonder thing.

But that's not necessarily saying they won't continue to consistently generate points
until they hit the 3 digit mark anyway.

They don't need to have 3 or 4 pt games, and then go cold for a few.
Instead, they just go 1 or 2 pts/game consistently all season.

Wow... that's just insane... Such a disgrace if it was in NHL. It was entertaining though, just glad it wasn't in NHL.
Why was that guy so pissed anyway? lol, nice move by the goalie to flip him over first.

Lol, with the European commentators, it felt like I was listening to the World Cup. Took me awhile to adjust.

WTF is up the Canadian flag there? Gotta love how the commentators are so into it... If that happened during a Canadian or US broadcast they'd probably go to commercial break.

Ya they did have their chances, especially late in the game yesterday.

But I notice that in the last maybe...5 games, they haven't been doing well with the puck possession game in the offensive zone like they usually do.

Love it when they own the zone and cycle the puck with crazy little plays and passes that only THEY could do.

Both Dan and Hank are in top 10 league scoring currently, i'd say awards or not, thats pretty good competeing with the ultra-elite in Crosby/Ovi

they are 1A if those two are 1

you dont have to worry about them... it seems like they arent really doing anything but at least they're quite consistent

dont forget, Henrik is leading in nhl with top assist at 28.

both Henk and Daniel are in top 10 scoring leader..

and most ahead of them have more games played. If they keep up their points/game pace over the games at hand, they'll be behind only Crosby/Stamkos, maybe St. Louis and/or Richards. So basically both top 5.

To say they haven't been dominant isn't really true IMO....theyre on pace for 100 pts, hit a post each last night, and Hank got ROBBED by Mcelhenney. Could have easily been a 6 point night between the 2 of them with a little luck.

Greenstoner 12-09-2010 08:06 PM

^i agree with this man as well

d1 12-09-2010 08:32 PM

If only hank could finish like daniel..

Im gonna have to a agree. For identical twins Daniels shot is soo much better than Henriks

DanHibiki 12-09-2010 09:36 PM

Hank CAN shoot. He showed it last year. He's just not choosing too since he has his brother back which frustrates us all.

Actually he is shooting. He's on pace for the same amount of shots as last year except his shooting percentage this year is a whopping 5.66% while it was 17% last year.

I wouldn't be to worried about their production. I remember last year Henrik was at the same pace as he was now and then after Christmas he started lighting it up.
