spoon.ek9 12-29-2010 12:05 AM

epic game tonight, super glad i recorded the whole thing and watched every minute :D

would shelley get a suspension for that sucker punch? literally out of no where and it caused what may be an injury for alberts.

His previous sucker punch back in 2004.

This guy should be thrown out of the NHL along with Tootoo.

Tim Budong 12-29-2010 01:00 AM

Tootoo entered a substance abuse rehabilitation program today on his own will

Jody Shelley is a repeat offender, the guy just came back from a suspension as well

Shelley hearing?
In his first game back since being suspended for two games on Dec. 13, Flyers enforcer Jody Shelley might have another suspension coming his way. Shelley was ejected from last night's long-gone game in the third period after dropping Canucks defenseman Andrew Alberts with a sucker punch in a scrum.

Shelley received a 5-minute major and a match penalty, which requires a mandatory supplementary discipline hearing with the NHL's dean of discipline, Colin Campbell, within 24 hours. Shelley was suspended for the fourth time in his career earlier in the month for a hit on Boston's Adam McQuaid, which was his first suspension since 2004 and his first stemming from a play that did not involve a fight.

Great win, there's no stopping this team but the game vs. Dallas should be interesting.

1exotic 12-29-2010 01:53 AM

Canucks are going to play Dallas in the Western Conference Finals this year... and go on to win the Stanley Cup after that.

spideyv2 12-29-2010 03:30 AM

jody shelley has 2 female names, no wonder he has so much anger bottled inside

what a awesome game, they look unstoppable right now.

If only the Play Offs could start now eh? Anyways, great looking team but in a cycle of hi's and low's, and I'm sort of bracing myself for at least 1 bad month somewhere between here and april.

Still looking like we'll finish in good PO positioning regardless, or decent at the very least. This team has got a lot going for them.

or you can think of it as more hockey for the holiday withdrawal

Philly was definitely rusty after 8 days off. Still Canucks made them look like a 500 team. Can't wait for the playoffs.

Greenstoner 12-29-2010 09:46 AM

January is almost here.... Canucks' worse nightmare ...

lets see how they do come January

Bear in mind they also didn't have Pronger last night. We still probably could've pulled a win last night they're definitely a much better team than what they showed last night; esp. with Pronger back.

2 game suspension for Shelley.

I think it's appropriate if Alberts is alright.

Flyers' enforcer Shelley receives 2-game suspension
SNPhilly.com

Flyers forward Jody Shelley has received a two-game suspension for punching Canucks defenseman Andrew Alberts in the face late in the third period of Tuesday's 6-2 loss in Vancouver.

Alberts, a former Flyer, required assistance from the Canucks medical staff to leave the ice. Shelley received a game misconduct and match penalty.

A known enforcer who had been a healthy scratch for two games prior to Tuesday, Shelley is no stranger to the NHL's disciplinary process. He was suspended for two games on Dec. 13 for hitting Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid from behind.

Shelley's suspension means Dan Carcillo, who was scratched in favor of Shelley in Vancouver, will return to the lineup Thursday when the Flyers face the Los Angeles Kings.
